Gene Rietmann was the installing officer, Lewis Halvorsen the installing marshall and Mrs. Charles O'Connor the musician. A potluck dinner was served by the members of the families preceeded the meeting. There were around 50 present. The Arnica club met at the home of Mrs. Garry Tullis Wed nesday afternoon Dec. 18 with Mrs. Roy Lindstrom as co-hostess. A Christmas party was held and secret pals were revealed. Mrs. Lindstrom showed movies of the past Arnica club parties. Mrs. E. W. Bristow received the door prize. Funeral services were held for Miss Ettie Logan in Portland Dec. 18. She was a former resi dent of the Cecil community and lived in Portland many years. She was an aunt of Mrs. Ray Bar nett of lone, James and John Lo gan of Cecil, Gene Logan of Ar lington and Bryce Logan of Con don. ' Mrs. and Mrs. Ernest McCabe and children moved into their house on Main street. They have been living for the past three years in the Earl McCabe house on Second street. The Joe Hausler family will move into the Earl McCabe house soon. The annual Christmas program was given by the school Thurs day evening, Dec. 19. The first and second grades gave a mus ical playlet, Fir Tree's Christmas. The characters were fir trees, woodsman, a bird, bells, snow flakes and reindeer. The third through eighth grades gave an operetta, The Christmas Wish, with Santa, mothers, children, photographers and carolers, toys etc. The first Christmas, the riat ivlty in silhoutte was presented with Ronald Crabtree as the read- er. Music was by the high school chorus and brass choir. Gary Stephenson was the di rector and Karen Lundell the ac companist. Santa Claus arrived and gave treats to all. The treats were furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pettyjohn. The P-TA also had charge of some of the arrangements. Coconut Shortbread Crust .ui ' V cup butter 1 cup sifted flour 3 tablespoons sugar 1 cup Baker's Angel 1 egg yolk Flake Coconut Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolk and blend well. Add flour, mixing thoroughly. Then add coconut. Pat mixture into 9-inch pie pan. Chill 30 minutes, then bake in moderate oven (350 F.) 25 to "1 minutes, or until browned.
