Hill Jr.. s.n of Mrs. Jessie Hill of Pendleton, on Friday evening, October 4 at All Saints Episco pal church in Heppner, with the Rev. George R. S. Little officiat ing. The bride was dressed in a powder blue satin brocade two piece ensemble with black ac cessories. Her attendant, Mrs. Ernest Gal laher of Pendleton, wore a mat- king ensemble in old rose. Matt Svrtich, Pendleton was the best man. The bride's mother wo:c a black dinner dress trimmed wiui vl:ito and the groom's mother w-is dressed in a beige silk two piece ensemble. At the reception, which follow d, :it the ranch home of the bride's parents at Hardman, Mrs. I Marvin Desler, sister of the groom and Mrs. Howard Petty john, sister of the bride, served the three tiered wedding cake. Mrs. Jessie Hill, mother of the groom and Mrs. R. B. Wilcox, grandmother of the bride, poured. Mrs. J. Deane Graves, sister-in-law of the bride, had charge of the guest book and Mrs. Louis Carlson, sister of the bride, the g;fts. Mrs. Claud J. White assist ed with the serving. Those attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Practically all Lexington teach ers attended t h e county OEA meeting Monday at Irrigon. The Lexington football team was defeated last Friday by Weston, and Will play Irrigon Friday at Irrigon. The Lexington P-TA met at the school auditorium with the pres ident, Barbara Cutsforth in the chair. Dr. Wallace Wolff gave a most instructive and interesting talk on asiatic flu. A report was made by the ways and means committee of a Hallowe'en mas puerade party to be held at the I.O.O.F. hall on Octiber 30. A prize will be given for the best cost ume, games will be played danc ing enjoyed and refreshments served. This is for the P-TA members and all friends and those interested.. Entertains At Two Bridge Luncheons Mrs. Ralph I. Thompson ent ertained last Wednesday after noon with a bridge luncheon at her lwme on Willow creek. Guests were Mesdames Frank Turner, Gene Ferguson, Ted Smith, Earl Blake, Loyal Parker, Fred Parrish, A. D. McMurdo, C. E. McQuarrie, Verner Troedson, Claude Graham, Frank Hamlin and Mervin Leonard. Mrs. Hamlin held high score, Mrs. Ferguson was second high and Mrs. Graham low. On Monday afternoon Mrs. Thompson had another group for luncheon and bridge. Guests were Mesdames Frank Wilkinson, Charles Vaughan, Lowell Gribble, Dick Wells, Wal lace Wolff, Jack Bedford and Mervin Leonard. High score here was held ,by Mrs. Gribble, Mrs. Bedford second Mrs. Wolff. Tom Wilson and Lowell Gribble were the high couple and Clinton McQua'rrie and Mrs. Van Marter were second high. o Carol Anderson Tells Soroptimist Club Of 4-H Summer School Carol Anne Anderson, who re ceived the scholarship to the 4-H summer school given by the Sor optimist club, was guest speaker pt the club's Thursday meeting at O'Donnell's. She told of her experiences on the campus at Corvallls in June and explained some of the things she studied while there. She also showed pictures of the groups and passed around the year book put out by the summer school. Phyllis Quackenbush was the senior girl guest at this meeting and Mrs. Jean Mallory was also a guest. Mrs. Oliver Creswick, youth committee chairman, gave a re port on the plans for the annual hayride.
