Pag 4 lone News Maranatha Club Meets Maranatha club met at the home of Mrs. Wate Crawford with Mrs. Dale Ray as co-hostess. At the business meeting conduct ed by Mrs. Berl Akers, president, the club decided to send $10 to the Friendly Service to be divided into four groups, the home land, overseas, Lebonan in Greece and migrant work. Mrs. Floyd Bailey explained the work and the need of this service. Mrs. Akers an nounced that Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lindstrom had donated a double sink for the kitchen in the Com munity church. Mr. and Mrs. Al bert Lindstrom recently gave a dishwasher to the church kitch-, en. These will be installed soonJ Mrs. O. L. Lundell. Mrs. Arvilla Swanson and Mrs. Mary Swanson were appointed on the nominat ing committee. The club decided to hold a pancake supper some time in October. Mrs. Arthur Crawford announced that the sorority are giving a Hallowe'en' party at the Leelon hall Oct. 31. Refreshments were served after tne meeting and Mrs. Bailey re n h-nrf the door prize. Next meet ing will be at the home of Mrs. Marion Palmer Oct. 9. Library Week Slated The Topic club met at the home of Mrs. Fannie Griffith Friday afternoon Sept. 13 with Mrs. Charles O'Connor as co-hostess. The roll call was answered by naming a favorite poem. Mrs. O'Connor reviewed several po-1 ems and told something of the! authors. At the business meet-J ing conducted by Mrs. John Proudfoot plans were made for! the Know Your Library Week to be held Sept 23 to 26 inclusive. A silver tea will be held Sept. 26 ' in the afternoon. Members were1 named to go to the school and! give reports on books to the stu dents. Those working in the li brary and serving refreshments are: Monday, Sept. 23, the first grade will visit the library at 9:45 a.m. with Mrs. O'Connor as librarian and Mrs. E. R. Lundell in charge of refreshments; the second grade at 10:45 a.m. with Mrs. Noel Dobyns librarian and Mrs. Mabel Cotter, refreshments: 10th grade at 12:45 p.m. to 5 p.m. Mrs. Echo Falmateer li brarian and Mrs. Dixon Smith refreshments; Tuesday 24, the 9th grade at 9:45 with Mrs. Wil liam Rawlins librarian and Mrs. Norman Nelson, refreshments: 7th and 8th grades at 11 a.m. with Mrs. Roland Bergstrom, 11 brarian and Mrs. Arvilla Swan son, refreshments; 5th and 6th grades at 1 p.m., Mrs. Charles Carlson as librarian and Mrs. Roy Lindstrom, refreshments; Wednesday the 25th, the 11th grade at 10:50 a.m. with Mrs. Verner Trordson as librarian and Mrs. Omar Rietmann refresh ments; 3rd grade at 1:40 p.m. and 4th grade at 2:30 p.m. with Mrs.l John Proudfoot as librarian and Mrs.Flovd Bailev rpfrhmnhi. Mrs. Troedson and Mrs. Victor Rietmann will have charge of the tea and Mrs. Mary Swanson, Mrs. Cotter and Mrs. Troudfoot the kitchen Thursday afternoon.
