Graduation exercises for the eighth grade of Boardman school were hold Monday night in the gymnasium. The Hov. G. A. Hash, pastor of the Baptist church at Irrigon, spoke on "You Live Your Own Lift." The processional was by the high school band; invo cation by Shirley Earwood; in strumental number, "Graduation Day" by Carolyn Baker, Jimmy Miller, Larry West, Rosina Jones, Hob Taylor and Bill Cetz; intro duction of speaker by Sigvald Aase, school superintendent; song, "My Own America", Col leen Anderson, Rosina Jones, Carolyn Baker, Judy Part low and Spray Rodeo Assn. William Adlard, Condon, has been visiting the past week at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Hoffman. Other recent visitors at the Hoffman home were Mrs. Hoffman's mother, Mrs. Frankie Adlard, Mrs. Pearl McKonkie, Jim Rickard and Jerry Keller, all of Condon; Mrs. Hoffman's bro ther and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Theron Adlard and sons Dale and Ivan of Heppner, and her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Wyatt Shellman of The Dalles. Mrs. William Garner was top winner in the annual Flower Show and Silver Tea held by the Boardman Garden club Friday afternoon in the basement of the ; Community church. Mrs. Garner ! won first place with her pansies, poppies and flower arrangement. Mrs. Effie Miller won two firsts and two ssconds. The Ladies Aid society of the Community church met Wednes day afternoon of last week at the church, with 16 members present. Mrs. Clyde Tannehill and Mrs. Arthur Allen were hos tesses. Mrs. Russell Miller and Mrs. Arnin Hug presented the missionary program. The ladies will make choir robes for the junior choir. The afternoon was spent getting old Christmas cards ready for mail ing to World Visions in Pasa dena, Calif., who will send them out for use in missionary work. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Anderegg and daughter Barbara returned home last week from a trip to Redding, Calif., where they visi ted at the home of Mrs. Ander egg's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Fife. They also visited with Mrs. Anderegg's mother, Mrs. Barbara Snell, and her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Les Oswald, who were there' from Sacramento, Calif. Recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gantenbein were the Rev. Frank Shults, pas tor of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church at Gresham, Gordon Gibson of Gresham, the Kov. Stomell. pastor of the Trin uv Evangelical and Reformed vluirch in Portland, and Mrs. Martha Stohr. also of Portland, who were all on their way to Payette, Idaho for the spring nueting of the Pacific Northwest Synod. Mrs. Charles Higuera was hos tess to the Tillicum club Tuesday evening of last week at the home of Mrs. Don Downey. There were eight members present. Mrs. Delmer Hug was a visitor. Meeting opened with the club "Collect." Announcement was made of a "Show Me" trip at the State Gam? Farm at Buck's Corner on May 20, which was open to all club members and their families. The cooked food sale which was to have been held in the , city park May 11 will be held instead Saturday, May 25. At the next meeting each member is to bring a magazine lo be sent to a foreign university. A true and false quiz on legis lative matters and rules was held. The annual membership tea will be held Tuesday, June, 4, at 8 p. m. in the Saddle Room of the Hitchin' Post cafe. Mrs. Fred G. Gast, state financial secretary of the Oregon Federation of Women's clubs, will be guest speaker. She will be accompan ied by Mrs. Earl Y. Dickon sheets, head of the Literature and Drama division of the state Federation. Both are from Port land. The tea will take the place of the regular meeting of the club. Committees for the affair are: publicity, Mrs. Ronald Black, Mrs. Eldon Shannon and Mrs. Wayne Conyers; food, Mrs. Joe Lexington News Baccalaureate services were held at the Lexington Christian church on Sunday evening at 8 p. m. with Rev. Norman North rup delivering the address. The program was as follows: prelude-processional, Juanita Car michael; invocation, Norman Northrup; Hymn, Holy, Holy, Holy, by congregation; special music by the men's quartet; scripture reading, Bob Mathews; message, Where Will I Go?, Nor man Northrup; special music, quartet and hymn, Have Thine Own Way, by congregation; dedicatory with recessional fol lowing. High school seniors were as follows: Beverly Jean Baker, Donald Lee Hunt, Vern Millard Nolan, Michael Dennis Patrick, George Vernon Hermann, Mau reen Ann Groves and Raymond Dean Schoonover. Class motto, We Rise in Glory as We Sink in Pride; class colors, orchid and yellow, and the flower, yellow rose and violet. Grade school graduates - are William James Steagall, Tommy Grant Martin, Roger Paul Doherty, Carol Ann Palmer and Bill Charles Parsons. Peck was a Portland visi tor on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Jones re turned Tuesday evening after a business trip to Portland on Mon. day. While there they visited with Mrs. Jones' grandmother, Mrs. Katie Sheedy. Residents of Lexington were very pleased on Monday evening to see one of its citizens, Ken Peck on T.
