Jewel of a past master was Bridge Club Has Christmas Party At Wilson Home The Whats Trumps bridge club held their Christmas party and potluck luncheon last Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Tom Wilson. Greenery and candles were used about the room and a gift exchange was held after an after noon of cards. Those present were Mrs. Ray mond Ferguson, Mrs. E. K. Schaf fitz, Mrs. Leonard Schwarz, Mrs. Earl Blake, Mrs. Robert Penland, Mrs. P. W. Mahoney, Mrs. Gene Ferguson, Mrs. Harold Conn, Mrs. Wallace Worff, Mrs. Elaine George, Mrs. L. D. Tibbies, Mrs. James Thomson and the hostess. Mrs." Mahoney held high score, Mrs. Gene Ferguson, second, Mrs. Wolff, third and Mrs. Blake, low. presented Oliver Creswick, out going master, by J. O. Turner. Music for the installing cere monies was supplied by Mrs. C. C. Carmichael. Th hall was decorated with Christmas trees and greens. The dinner was prepared and served by the women of the Eastern Star directed by Mrs. Roy Quack enbush, worthy matron. Paul Koenig, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Blakney and Mr. and Mrs. John Williams were hosts at a pre-Christmas party at the Koenig home Saturday even ing. Preceding the buffet at mid ni"ht. the euetss nlaved cards. !sang carols and enjoyed dancing to the music of records and a pan !tomime orchestra with Paul Koe ! nig at the organ, John Williams, tiombone. Phil Blakney, trumpet and La Verne Van Marter, clan- ' net. The floor show consisted of pantomime numbers by Mrs. Wil liam Labhart as Bins Crosby, Mrs James Norene as Gary Crosby and Mrs. Koenig as Pearl Bailey Mrs. LaVerne Van Marter was of ficial photographer and took pic tures of the thirty four couples present and the hosts and hos tesses. (GT Photo) HP n il i flpiiop f ft Christmas giving NYLON LINGERIE it Faerie Rebekahs Christmas Party Slated Dec. 17 Sans Soucl Rebekah Lodge met Fridav evening, December 7 at the Odd Fellows hall with 21 present. It was decided to have a Christ mas party, December 17 for both the Rebekahs and Odd Fellows, with an exchange of gifts and entertainment. Hamburgers ana potato chips will be served. Mrs. Altha Kirk presented seals to Mrs. N. D. Bailey and Mrs. Ro bert Dobbs for reciting their un written work. Mrs. Frank Avers and Mrs. Lin coln Nash were hostesses and those who had birthdays during the past three months, were non- ored. o Rhea Creek Extension Unit Holds Meeting The Rhea Creek Home Exten sion Unit met last Wednesday at the grange hall. Sixteen were present and a potluck dinner was held at noon. The projects for the meeting was Christmas decorations and gift wrapping, with Mrs. Elmer Palmer, Mrs. Orrin Wright, Mrs. Walter Wright and Mrs. William Rawlins as leaders. St. Monica's Guild Elects New Officers St. Monica's Guild of the Epis copal church held a regulai"meet ing Tuesday night of last week in the parish house with ten present. Members were given a report on the St. Monica s doll and new officers were elected as follows: Mrs. Herbert Hamilton, president; Mrs. Robert Dobbs, vice president; and Mrs. Larry Dowen, secretary- treasurer. Mrs. Hamilton and Mrs. Wil liam Labhart were hostesses for refreshments. o COMBINED CIRCLES TO MEET The circles of the W. S. C. S. will hold a combined meeting Wednesday, Dec. 19 at the Metho dist church beginning at 10:30 a. m. There will be a pot luck lun cheon at noon. A Christms program is plan ned. Soroptimists Make Final Plans For Christmas Party The Soroptimist club held its regular monthly business meet ing Thursday noon at U'Donnell's. Committee reports were given and bulletins distributed. Final plans were made for the Christmas party to be held at the home of Miss Leta Humphreys Wednesday evening December 19. The Christmas boxes will be packed then and initiation held for two members, Mrs. Oliver Creswick and Mrs. Rohert Dobbs. There will be no meeting of the club on Thursday December 20 as the party will take the place of a regular meeting.
