Mrs. A. F. Majeske and daugh ter Pat returned Sunday from the weekend spent in Eugene and Portland. Mrs. Emma Breshears returned home last week from a vacation in Indiana. Mr. and Mis. Alonzo Hender son and children are vacationing at beaside for a few days. Miss Dona Barnett and Mrs. Trina Parker returned home Tues day from Camp Sherman where they've spent several weeks at their summer home. Mrs. Ethel Dunbar and son Dexter and Hoyt Laney are va cationing in California. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Mathews were Milton-Freewater visitors Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Don Hatfield re turned Sunday from a vacation spent in Caldwell, Idaho at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Frank. They motored to La Grande on Friday where they were met by Mr. and Mrs. Roy Martin, Barbara Steagall and the Hatfield children for a few days stay at Cove. Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Miss Viv Murry left Thursday for Spokane where she will visit her sister and do some school shopping. Mrs. Doris Capon drove Archie Cox to Pendleton to meet Mis Cox and three children who ar rived on the eastern train after a visit with her parents. Harley Matteson of Heppner spent Monday night at the Harry Scott home in Long Creek, Tues day night at the Bob Kingman home in Monument, Wednesday night at the Elmer Matteson home, returning to Heppner on Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Nolan and daughter returned to their home in Portland after visiting at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Johnson. Lee and Gerald Slocum went to The Dalles and Portland the past week on business. Verne McCarty received word that his mother had passed away in Walla Walla. Services were held Monday. Mrs. Ida Chapman of Horn- brook, California is visiting her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gar Leyva. Mr. and Mrs. E. E. McFadden and son were Prosser, Washing ton visitors over the weekend with a sister and family of Mrs. Mc- fadden. Mr. and Mrs. Buster Vinson were called to Spokane by the illness of Mrs. Vinson s mother. They left on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. William J. Van Winkle were Richland visitors Tuesday.
