Tuesdays Past Matrons Meet At Ferguson Home The Past Matrons club met at the home of Mrs. Gene Ferguson Monday June 25. Articles for the Eastern Star home were turned in and plans discussed for a picnic to be at tne mountain place of Mr. and Mrs. Loyal Parker July 15. After the business session a social evening was enjoyed. High score in bridge was held bv Mrs. Frank Wilkinson and high in other games by Mrs. Ealor Hus ton. Here's an ideal menu that's easy to prepare: Lamb Shish Kabobs Prepackaged Cooked Rice Fruit Salad Iced Tea Of course, no outdoor summer meal would be complete without the all-time favorite beverage iced tea. Just to look at a tall frosted pitcher of ice tea imme diately conjures up in one's mind the pleasures of relaxing and enjoying one's self while the cool, refreshing liquid trick les aown ones throat. Here's a new way to make iced tea that cuts the prepara tion time in half, and also re quires less ice cubes. Bring one quart of freshly drawn cold water to a full, rolling boil in a saucepan. Remove from heat and while the water is still bub- bling, immediately add cup loose tea. Brew 5 minutes. To make Lamb Shish Kabobs combine cup of each of chopped onion, olive oil, red wine (optional). 1 minced r1nv of garlic, 1 tablespoon salt, and l teaspoon black pepper in a Dutch oven. Marinate 2 'A nnunris lamb shoulder cut in 2-inch cubes overnight. Turn into Dutch oven, simmer covered for 1 hour or until lamb is almost tpnrior Wash and prepare the following vegetables: 4 firm tomatoes, cut in half; 2 ereen peppers. Quar tered, and 8 mushrooms. Ar range on 8 skewers as follows: iamb, green pepper, lamb, to mato, lamb, mushroom. Brush ' with marinade and broil or grill, turning and brushing frequently until lamb is crusted brown Serve remaining sauce over rice. MaKes B servings.
