PATRICK'S CHURCH SATURDAY 4 The wedding of Mary Ann Jen Ben, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Nash to Marion Lee Pal mer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Palmer of lone, was an event of Sunday afternoon at the Metho dist church. Her fin ger tip veil fell from a cao trim med with white flowers and she carried a bouquet of white hva cinths centered with a lavender orchid and a a white Bible. I he maid of honor, Miss Kay Sherer of lone , cousin of the groom, wore a lavender ballerina length gown of net and taffeta. Senior bridesmaid, Shirley May Nsh, sister of the bride wore a similar gown of blue and the junior bridesmaid, Rose Marie Nash, sister of the bride wore a gown of coral net and taffeta. All three attendants carried nose- ! gays of daisies in pastel colors. Best man was Roger Palmer, j cousin of the groom and ushers were Lyle Jensen, brother of the bride and Lawrence Harrison, : cousin of the groom, of Cascade I Locks. ? The church was decorated with ; daisies and stock in pastel shades. Wedding music was played by Mrs. J. O. Turner and Miss Mari lyn Munkers sang "Dearly Be- ; loved", and "Because". ! The mother of the bride wore a blue suit with pink accessories ; and pink rosebud corsage. The , groom's mother was attired in a : pale blue suit with pink acces sories and corsage of pink rose buds. , At the reception which followed In the church basement, pastel colored flowers and candles were used about the rooms. Pouring coffee was the grand- ' mother of the groom, Mrs. L. A. palmer of Lexington and Mrs. j Elmer Springer of Hood River, jaunt of the bride was at the I punch bowl. The cake was ser ved by Mrs. Kenneth Vosberg, ; coUsin of the bride of Hood River, assisted by Mrs. Alvin Wagen- blast. Mrs. Roger Palmer had charge of the guest book and Mrs. ; James Green was at the gift table. Assisting in the kitchen were Mrs. Kenneth Carpenter, Mrs. Emma Anderson, Mrs. Char les Gomillion, Mrs. Douglas Drake and Mrs. Theta Stratton. For something new, the bride wore pearls, the gift of the groom. for something old, a handker chief; something borrowed, ear rings loaned by Mrs. James Green; the traditional blue gar ter made for her by Mrs. William Farra and a penny minted in the year of her birth, placed In her shoe Joy her father. Out of town guests were Ron Harris, Forest Grove; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Springer, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Vosberg, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Springer and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Nash and family, Mr. Cloise Applegate and family, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd White and Mrs. Maruis Nash, all of Hnnd River; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Petty john and family of The Dalles; Mr. and Mrs. Lee Pettyjohn and family of Arlington; Miss Jackie Rhodes of Portland; Mr. and Mrs. Royal Nash and family of Port land; Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Sprin ger and family of Pilot Rock; Mr. and Mrs. John Eastwood of Her- miston and Mr. P. C. Harrison of Cascade Locks. After a short wedding trip, the couple will be at home in lone where the groom is associated in ranching with his father and the bride will continue her posi tion with the First National Bank. o Two Initiated Into 0. E. S. Friday Night Ruth chapter, O. E. S. met Fri day evening February 24 and ini tiated two members, Mrs. Mary Cason and Mrs. Tom Hughes. Over 50 were present. A bride of Saturday afternoon at St. Patrick's Catholic church was Miss Lynda Borman, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Borman who was married to Richard Dun lap, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jock Dunlap of Sherwood, Oregon. Rev. P. J. Gaire, officiating at the double ring eremony. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white and silver lame ballerina length gown with matching bolero and her finger tip veil was held in place by a tiara of white flowers. Her bouquet was of white hyacinths and pink roses. Miss Shliley Kononen, maid of honor wore a yellow net ballerina gown and carried pink roses. Bridesmaids Diane Grant of Arl ington and Joanne Keithley of Heppner wore ballerina length gowns of green net and carried pink roses. Best man was Douglas Hoxsey of Condon Air Base and ushers were Bob Dixon and Bob Sieu- czak, both of Condon air base. Red roses were used to decorate the altar. Miss Marguerite Glavey played the wedding music and Marilyn Munkers sang "Ave Marie". The bride's mother wore navy blue with matching accessories and the groom's mother wore a grey velvet suit with black ac- cessories. At the reception in the church basement, Mrs. Joe Wright cut the cake, Mrs. L. E. Ruhl, Lex ington and Mrs. Leslie Grant of Arlington poured the coffee and Mrs. Stanley Cox was at the punch bowl. Assisting in serv ing were Laurel Allstott, Franrine Francis and Frances Slocum. Judy Wright had charge of the guest book and Miss Judy Thompson of Pendleton was at the gift table. Helping about the rooms were Mrs. Clarence Wise and Mrs. Nina Noland. The groom graduated from Ti gard High School and attended the University of Washington be fore joining the air force. Refreshments were served by the hostesses, Mrs. Howard Bryant and Mrs. Roy Quackenbush. Mrs. Elor Huston and Mrs. Joe Hughes poured. LEGION AUXILIARY TO MEET The American Legion auxiliary will meet Tuesday evening, March 6 at the home of Mrs. Riley Munkers at 8:00 p. m. Van Marter, Mr. and Mrs. wil liam Labhart, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Koenig, Mr. and Mrs. Fred San ders, Mr. and Mrs. William Bar ratt, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Dowen, Dr. and Mrs. James Norene and Mr. and Mrs. Alex Thompson, Prizes for men were won by Bradley Fancher, high; La Verne Van Marter, second and William Labhart, low. For women Mrs, Koenig was high; Mrs. Van Mar; ter, second and Mrs. Dowen, low, Mrs. Angel and La Verne Van Marter received the traveling prizes and the door prize went to William Barratt. Three New Members Join Mineral Society The Morrow County Gems and Mineral Society met Wednesday evening, February 22 at Hotel Heppner. John Newman, vice president, presided in the absence of Walter Edger, president. Program chairman, Harold Sanders, Sr., assisted by George Miller of lone conducted a study of different rocks and minerals. Three new members joined the society are Dr. and Mrs. Clifford Waener nnd Paul Miller of lone. Mrs. John Newman was srmtnse for the evening. Mrs. Herman Green . During the afternoon the fol lowing program was given; vocal duets, Melody of Love and Love and Marriage by Lona White and Dalene McDonald; violin solo. Yours is My Heart Alone by Mrs. Kenneth Smouse, accompanied by Mrs. E. M. Baker; a vocal solo, Some Sunday Morning by Mrs. Vernon Munkers, accompanied by Mrs. Lloyd Howton. Kay Sherer and Mardine Baker assisted with the gifts which were on a table decorated with wedding bells and with an over hanging pink and white parasol. Lona White and Darlene McDon aid assisted about the room. Refreshments were served from a table with a center piece of white roses and tapers. Mrs. Marion Palmer and Mrs. Lincoln Nash poured.
