Emsley Rogers has gone to Lackland Airforce base at San Antonio, Texas for basic training in the U. S. Airforce. Mrs. Rogers will stay at the home of her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Wright, in St. Helens, for the present. Darrell Marlow spent the week end in La Grande visiting Donald Gillespie, student at E. O. C. E. The Boardman basketball team was defeated by Arlington in a game here Saturday night, with a score of 52-29. Arlington car ried the game all the way through, the score at the half being 2212 High point man of the evening was Chase of the Arlington team with 20 points. Bill Thorpe was high for Board man with 11 points. In a grade team preliminary Boardman was defeated by Arlington 25-17. Next home game for the team will be with Heppner here Friday night, Jan. 13.
