Samuel R. Haley, legislative council for the State of Oregon is working as chairman of the pro gram at the 71-year old institu tion's law school. Haley has been statute revisor of Oregon since 1951. Assisting Haley are Edwin Butler and John P:nrliK. u-liii worked on revision of statutes at the 1953 session of the Oregon Legislature. Other programs the law school has undertaken as "firsts" in clude the Willamette Handbook and the Legal Aid Clinic. The handbook is an aid to lawyers containing instruments of judges to juries which have been both approved and turned down by the Oregon Supreme Court. The handbook is the only one of its kind in the country. r The Legal Aid Clinic, the only 6ne of its kind west of Denver, is associated with a law school. An interesting program is ar ranged. The first general session of the annual meeting will be a Sunday evening program in the Mormon Tabernacle on Temple Square. The world f amous Taber nacle Choir will sing at this open ing meeting. Besides the regular business sessions, the agents will have a chance to tour Salt Lake City and urrounding country to see at least a glimpse of Utah's natural and man made wonders. This 39th annual meeting will coincide with the 40th anniver sary of Extension service. This government agency was estab lished by an Act of Congress, May 14, 914. Expenses for the trip for these seventeen Oregon agents will be paid from private funds, u file such objections with said Court on or before the time fixed for said hearing. The $403,396,000 total for 1953 was exceeded in 1951 with $437, 896,000 and in 1952 with $419, 502,000. Livestock income was $177,042, 000, down 7 million dollars from 1952. Income from crops was $226,354,000, off about 9 million. Income by commodities: Meat animals $70,832,000 Food and grains . . 63,807,000 Dairy products 54,317,000 Fruits and nuts 51,280,000 Poultry products 42,391,000 Vegetables 38.593,000 DEMO'S AHEAD IN PORTLAND Last Saturday morning, the last day for registrations, the Repub lican totals in Multnomah County trailed the Democrats by more than 16,000.
