Recently announced is a new prune variety released by the ' Oregon State College experiment station. Its name is Milton Early Italian. The main advantage to this variety is that it is two weeks earlier in ripening than the standard Italian prunes. The college recommends it highly for gardens. Fruiting tests during 'he past live years indi cate that its quality is excellent.
