A sister, Miss Mabel McCabe of Enterprise was also present. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Palmateer and children spent Sunday wiih her mother, Mrs. Annie Healy. on Butter Creek. A. E. Stefani moved his cattle from Boardman to his farm below town. The beacon light on the Victor Rictmann hill is being moved to near the Smouse farm. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Morgan and Mrs. E. W. Bristow were Pendle ton visitors last week. Mrs. Ted Matthews of Camas Valley spent a few days with her mother, Mrs. Mary Emert, and took her daughter, Mrs. Bill Dun ham of Roseburg back with her. Mrs. Dunham has been visiting here for some time. Those attending the Royal Arch of the Masons meeting at the Wightman ranch in the moun tains Saturday evening from here were Carl Linn, Oscar Teterson, Henry Peterson, Sam Esteb. Adon Hamlctt, George Ely, Noel Dob yns, Roy Lindstrom. They en "loved a beef steak feed. State of ficers were there from Portland, Pendleton, Astoria and North Powder. Rov Lindstrom and Garland Swanson and sons, Dennis and John, are fishing near Unity this week. Mrs. Garland Swanson gave a Dartv Monday evening of last week in honor of her daughter. Jean Ann's, 15th birthday. Kenneth Lundell left Sunday for Oakland, Calif., after visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Lundell. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Aune of Seattle are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Barnett. Earl Morgan and Wate Craw ford gave very interesting re ports of the State convention of the grange at a grange meeting Saturday evening. It was de cided at the meeting to recess grange during the months of July and August. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Lewis Halvorsen, Mrs. James Lindsay and Mrs. John Eubanks. Judy and Alice Kay Mason of Portland are spending the sum mer at the Lewis Halvorsen ranch. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Lun dell enlertained the following (rnests at a Dartv Friday evening of last week in honor of Mrr Bolman of San Jose, Calif. Around 75 attended the annual strawberry feed given by me Masons at jheir hall Sunday even- 'ing. Jason Biddle of Portland was the only one coming from a distance. Mrs. Fannie Griffith returned home from Portland Sunday where she visited relatives. The lone baseball team beat Kinzua here Sunday 11 to 1. Mrs. E. M. Dr Schaefer, the man who discovered the method for producing snow and rain for the General Electric Company, and who is recog nized as outstanding for his contributions to the science of meteorology, will be one of the main 'speakers at the annual meeting June 30. The General Electric company is in no way Morrow Tri-County Weather Research Inc. In addition Dr. Fred Decker of the OSC phy sics department will report on precipitation and and the techniques which will be used this year in preparing a final report on evaluation studies. . This meeting is of vital importance to all ranchers and all are urged to attend and to take part.
