Mrs. Paul Jones, Mrs. John Pfeiffer, Mrs. Howard Evans and Mrs. Jim Thomson (mothers) accompanied them; also Ray Jones, Johnny Pfeiffer and Bruce Thomson. The girls had fun playing games, in the tree house, on the teeter-totter, swinging and col lecting small pine cones which they will use in making Thanks giving turkeys. At noon they had their sack lunches and hot choco late. In the afternoon, after the Hansel and Gretel story had been told to them, they took a Hansel arid Gretel hike through the woods with some of the mothers. They were delighted to find Hansel's crumbs ((small stones) along the way in several places, the tree under which Hansel and Gretel slept, the owl's nest, a piece of Gretel's dress on the bushes, and what remained of the old Witch's house, even to the cage and where she had built the fire. After returning to the cabin, they found treasures forall. A Hallowe'en table had been ar ranged with lighted pumpkin candles in the center, and at each child's place there was a Hal lowe'en mask and whistle, candy corn, cookies and other candy. Soroptimists Complete Plans For Hayride At the Soroptimist luncheon at O'Donnell's Thursday October 23, all committees vyere appointed and plans completed for the hal lowe'en hayride for the teenagers. November 20 has been set as a dinner meeting of the club, hus bands are to be guests and pic tures will be shown. Some of the measures on the ballot were discussed at this meeting and the rest of tnem will be taken up at the next meeting which is to be a sack lunch at the W. O. George home. Tibbies Home Scene Of What's Trump Club Mrs. L. D. Tibbies entertained the What's Trumps club at her home on South Chase street the last of the week. Mrs. David A. Wilson' received high score in bridge and Mrs. Gene Ferguson, second. Other guests present were Mrs. Harry Van Horn, Mrs. Raymond Ferguson, Mrs. Phillip W. Mahoney, Mrs. Harold A. Cohn, Mrs. IS, Stephen Thompson and Mrs. W. Oscar George. Refresh ments were served. Soroptimist Card Party Well Attended Eighteen tables of cards were in play at the benefit card party given Monday evening by the Soroptimists at the Parish hall to raise funds for the teen-age Hal lowe'en party. High bridge prizes were won by Mrs. Wallace Wolff and Dr. L. D. Tibbies and high pinochle by Mrs. John Lane and Harry Duvall. Mrs. Robert Dobbs won the door prize and Mrs. John Bergstrom was the lucky bidder on the Thanksgiving basket. Mahoneys Entertain With Family Dinner Mr. and Mrs. rhillip W. Ma honey were hosts for a dinner on Sunday at their home on Hager street complimenting their house guests, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Bea ver of Portland. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Archie Ball and son, Archie, Jr.; Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Van Marter, Jr.; and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Hall and son, David. WILL YOU PAY THE BILL? VOTE 327X ... Women's Fellowship Plans Silver Tea At the regular business meeting of the Christian Women's Fellow ship of the Christian church plans were made for their silver tea to be held in the church parlors on Wednesday November 5 from 7 p. m. to 9 p. m. Committees were appointed for the tea and clean up. CLASSES TO START FOR PARENTS Classes for parents will be held at tjie Heppner school beginning next Tuesday evening Nov. 4 at 8:00 p. m. These classes will be given every Tuesday night for six weeks. They are made available through the cooperation of the local physicians, Pioneer Memor ial hospital and the health dept. This is an opportuinty to learn more about parenthood, child birth and care of the baby. o OES SOCIAL CLUB The OES Social Club will meet Saturday Nov. 1 at 8:00 p. m. in the Masonic hall. All members and their husbands are invited. o CHURCHES CHRISTIAN CHURCH ' Earl L. Soward, Pastor Bible School begins at 9:45. Morning Worship at 11. The pastor will speak on "The Wistful Prodical". Evening service be gins at 7:30. The message will be 'The Perfect Priest", which is a continuation of the sermons from the Book of Hebrews. Thursday Bible study begins at 7 p. m. The choir meets at 8. o ALL SAINTS MEMORIAL CHURCH (Episcopal) Holy Communion 8:00. Church School 9:45. Holy Communion and sermon 11:00. The Junior choirs will assist the adult choir at this service Y. P. F. meeting in Parish Housp at 7:00. The All Saints Day festival is the Parish Name Day celebration. In the traditions of the church the Parish Name Day is a day of obligation for all members of the parish a day on which all are expected to make their communion-Holy Communion on Wednes day at 10. Choir Practices: Boys on Tuesday from 4 to 5. Girls on Wednesday from 4 to 5. Adult Choir on Thursday even ing at 8. Hallowe'en parties on Friday, Oct. 31st in Tarish House; Pre school, and 1st and 2nd grade at 2:30. From 3rd grade up at 7 in the evening. Children not going to other church parties are in vited.
