Peterson, Jeweler Shower Held -At Lexington Mrs. Dean Hunt of Lexington was honored with a pink and blue shower at the ranch home of Mrs. W. C. Van Winkle with Mrs. Jim Bloodsworth, Mrs. Randy Lott and Mrs. John Ledbetter as co-hostesses. C. Van Winkle, Roger Campbell, Clarice McFadden, Gus .McMillan and Otto Ruhl. Bingo was enjoyed during the afternoon, after which the hon oree opened her many gifts. o- Elks Ladies Night Well Attended Mr. and Mr$. Seven tables of pinochle and five tables of bridge were in play with Mrs. Earl Blake receiving high in bridge and Mrs. Earl Gilliam, second. In pinochle, Mrs. Terrell Benge received high and Mrs. C. C. Carmichael, second. Mr. and Mrs. Morgan showed movies of their trip to Hawaii. o ' Christmas Party Held by WSCS The Women's Society of Chris tian Service of the Methodist Church held their annual Christ mas party Wednesday evening at the parsonage with Mrs. J. Pal mer Sorlein and Mrs. William Richardson as hostesses. The pro gram theme was "Gifts We Offer" and was arranged by Mrs. Carl Vincent, Chairman. Mrs. Lucille Owens gave a musical medita tion on 'The Good Sheppherd." Mrs. Whitmer Wright gave the Scripture reading of the birth of thrist from the book of St. Mat thew. Mrs. Mary Bailey, chair man, presided over the business meeting which followed the pro gram. The members decided to redecorate and remodel the par sonage. Twenty-four members were present. Oliver Creswick and Harvey Wilhite "were guests. Shower Honors Mrs. Rauch, Jr. Mrs. Al Fetsch and Mrs. John Hartmann entertained as a stork shower Sunday evening at the Rauch home on Gllmore Street complimenting Mrs. Henry Rauch, Jr. Mrs. Alec Hunt received high score in games and Mrs. Henry Rauch, Sr., second. Payne, Mrs. Alex Soroptimists Plan Christmas Party Plans for their annual Christ mas party were made at the meet ing of the Soroptimist Club at the regular luncheon meeting Thursday noon at O'Donnell's Cafe. Mrs. Grace Nickerson. will be hostess for the party at her home on Green street on the even ing of December 20th. Special Christmas music has been ar ranged by Mrs. Juanita Carmich ael. Instead of the usual ex change of gifts, members will make cake and cookies for the patients in Ward D at the Vet eran'sHospital in Walla Walla. Mrs. Rodgers Reviews Book For Bookworms Mrs. Virginia Turner entertain ed the Bookworms Club at her home on Church street Tuesday evening. Mrs. Lucy E. Rodgers reviewed the book, "Oh" The Brave Music," by Dorothy Evelyn Smith. This is the story of an unusual girl from the time she is seven until her mid-teens. Pov erty, insecurity and the loss of her parents make her withdraw into the land of her imagination where she gives more attention to the "brave music" than to reality. Mrs. Wilcox is a house guest of Mrs. McNamer. DUPLICATE CLUB MET WEDNESDAY Mrs. Jos. J. Nys entertained the Duplicate Contract Bridge Club at her home Wednesday evening.
