Nooy-Smith Nuptials Held at Prineville At a morning ceremony Nov. 12 at 10 o'clock Miss Leatha Smith of Heppner, daughter of Mrs. Sylvia Smith, Prineville, became the bride of Otto C. Nooy, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Nooy of Pen dleton. The impressive double ring ceremony was performed at St. Joseph.s Catholic church by the groom's uncle, Father Otto C. Nooy of The Dalles. The bride, given in mar riage by her brother-in-law, Roy E. Denton of Prineville, wore a white tissue faille with lace yoke and long train. Her fingertip veil ws held in place by a coronet of seed pearls. She carried a white prayer book topped with a white THIS CHRISTMAS Give something for the HOME FROM Case Furniture orchid. Her only attendant, the matron of honor, was Mrs. John Butler of Pendleton who wes dressed in ohartruse tissue faille and matching braided coronet. She carried a mixed bouquet in colors to match her gown. The mother of the bride wore navy sheer Crepe with navy accessories and a corsage of pink rosebuds. The groom's mother wore pur ple crepe with pink and black ac cessories and a corsage of pink rosebuds. John Butler of Pendleton was best man and Ed Kenny of Spo kane and Maurice Kennedy, of Pendleton, brothers-in-law of the groom were ushers. Miss Helen Stump of Prineville was organist for the wedding music and accompanied John Nooy, brother of the groom as he sang "Ave Maria," "Panius An gelicus," "Oh Whence to Me This Bliss and "O Lord I am not THE BEST GIFT OF ALL... The reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Den ton with Mrs. Hartley Hall, Prine ville, aunt of the bride, cutting the wedding cake assisted by the bride's four sisters, Mrs. Ray Den ton and Mrs. Carl Robertson of Prineville, Mrs. Russell William son, Corvallis and Mrs. Howard Conlee, Madras. Mrs. Al Lydon, Prineville was in charge of the guest book. For going away the bride wore a navy dressmaker suit with pink and navy accessories and wore the orchid from her bridal bou quet. After a wedding trip to Sun Valley, Idaho, Mr. and Mrs. Nooy will be at home at 115 N. W. 6th street in Pendleton. Miss Smith attended Crook county schools, graduating from Crook county high school. She has been employed by Pacific Telephone and Telegraph com pany for ten years, two of which were spent at Bend after which she was transferred to Heppner as chief operator. She has now been transferred to Pendleton as assistant chief operator. Mr. Nooy attended Pendleton schools and spent four years in the armed service. Those coming from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Har vey Lundell and Mrs. Sloan of Astoria; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hel ena and sons of Seattle; Mr. and Mrs. Warren Crutcher and son Lee of Boring; Mr. and Mrs. Har land Lundell and children, and Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Evans of Boise, Ida.; Mr. and Mrs. Dale Lundell, Kenneth Lundell and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lundell of Oakland, Calif. ;Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Lun dell and son Timmy of Portland; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Swanson and children of Portland; and Mrs. Amanda Harrison of Wich ata, Kansas. E. R. Lundell was elected president. Mrs. O. E. Lind strom, vice president; Mrs. Mary Swanson, secretary treasurer; Algott Lundell, historian; and O. L. Lundell, sargant-at-arms. A pot luck dinner was served and dancing was enjoyed. freight line. Among the out-of-town guests attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. H. Rausch of Heppner. lone Legion Auxiliary Hold Initiation Initiation was held at a meet ing of the American Legion Aux iliary Nov. 20. Mrs. Vernon Ken nedy, of Pendleton, District Presi dent assisted with the initiation. Mrs. Robert DeSpain, Unit presi dent presented Mrs. Kennedy with a gift from the Unit. Mrs. Cecil Thome, past district presi dent was, also, presented with a gift. Mrs. Thome gave a report on the president and secretary conference recently held in Port land. Mrs. Victor Rietmann, the chairman of rehabilitation report ed that she sent $27.32 worth of articles to the Veterans hospital in Portland from the Unit. Many articles were brought for the gift shop for the veterans. Any one having any to give may turn them in to Mrs. Rietmann. Re freshments were served by Mrs. Rietmann, Mrs. DeSpain and Mrs. Echo Palmateer. The tables were decorated with yellow candles and mums,. Mrs. Louise Clark president of the Pendleton Unit was also a guest. Reception Honors John Bergstroms Mr. and Mrs. John Bergstrom were honorees at a reception on Saturday evening in observance of their twenty-fifth wedding an niversary. The party was held at the Bergstrom country home in the Eightmile section and some seventy guests" called during the evening to offer their congratula tions to the couple. The tea table was beautifully decorated with a white lace cloth, centered with a large three-tiered wedding cake. Mrs. Lawrence Beckett and Mrs. R. D. Allstott poured. Mrs. Merle Plank, Salem, cut and ser ved the cake. Miss Marilyn Berg strom was in charge of gifts and guest book. Bouquets of Chry santhemums and other fall flow ers were used about the rooms. Hosts and Hostesses for the af fair were Mr. and Mrs. Ben An derson, Mrs. Hilma Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Beckett, Mr. and Mrs. Carl V. Bergstrom, Miss Esther Bergstrom, Mr. and Mrs. J. J.
