School Presents Fine Christmas Prog ram "Proud fathers and mjothers and interested friends filled the gymna sium to capacity Wednesday night to enjoy the Christmas program presented by grade and high school students. Following the sounding of taps by Morgan Connor the band played thre numbers, the national anthem. "God Bless America" and "Christ mas Festival." Groug singing was led by Everettt Smith with Miss Rose Hooski ait the piano. Archdeacon Neville Blunt read the prophecy as found) in Is.iah and R(7. Bennie Hove offered prayer. "Star of the East", a pageant of the Christmas story, arranged and directed by Miss Lela Peterson, was the high light of the evening and a beautiful production it was. The stage setting was complete, to the star rising above Bethlehem. Seated before the manger was Mary with Joseph at her side, portrayed by Marjorie ' Sims and Joe Mc Laughlin. The shepherds, Kenneth Schunk, Lauren Corwin and Tom Hughes; wise men. Glen Coxen, Billy Ulrich, Francis Connor, child ren.Wesley Galiiger, Dorothy Alls tott, Jack Ross, and adult worship ers, Carolyn Bergstrom and Her bert Schunk, completed the pic ture with Dorothy Worden as the angel. ' The well loved story progressed by readings of scripture by Bobby Barnett and Karl Gabler, and anti phonal singing by the lower grade chorus under the direction of Miss Kathryn Parker and the tipper grade chorus with Miss Hoosier leading. Miss Parker's high school chorus contributed greatly to the enjoyment of the evening with their well sung carols. Solos, Star of the East and Silent Night were sung were sung by Jean Turner accom panied by Marylou Ferguson, and practice at 8 o'clock. The very smoothness with which the entire program moved bespoke the weary hours of preparation and rehearsals which alone can bring such pleasure to an audience and justly deserved satisfaction to stu dents and faculty. Mr. and Mjrs. Harry Parsegan left the latter part of the week for Salem where they were called by the serious illness of his father. Mr. and Mrs. J. G.
