The best and most common practice in treating seed in small quantities is to use the corrosive sublimate treat ment. This is done by dissolving 4 ounces of corrosive sublimate in one gallon of hot water. This is then add ed to 29 gallons of water and 4 sacks of uncut potatoes soaked for 1 hour, l'A hours, ltt hours and 2 hours. The treatment should be done in a wooden container only, as the coito sive sublimate corrodes metal. Po tatoes should be treated before being cut and should be allowed to drain and dry off after being treated. Corrosive sublimate is a deadly poison and care should be used to keep it away from livestock and chil dren. This treatment controls potato diseases such as Rhizoctonia and Scab. There is no treatment, except seed selection, that will control the so called virus potato diseases such as Mosaic. at the Mnrrnw ftpneral hnsnital with diabetes and complications.
