With this issue we commence the publication of the eighth vol ume of The Times, and we are glad to say that our subscription list and patr nage in general of the paper has gradually increased dur ing the entire year just past. The subscription list has so grown that we leel sate m saying there are few homes in Morrow county to which The Times is not a regular weekly visitor. It has been our endeavor to furnish all the local news we can gather, besides a large amount of general news, and in this line we shall endeavor to make the service even better the coming year than we have the past. Mor row county nas never been more prosperous and made greater strides in industrial lines than she has the present year, and the in dicatiens are that it will be still greater during the next few years. With this view of the future of our county, it shall be our endeavor to keep The Times abreast of the times, and in this way do our best to merit a liberal share of the pros perity that we hope for all the people of our county and state. There will be regular preaching aer- j vice in the Baptist church next Sunday ' both morning and evening. ' J. W. The presentation of the "Slavs of the Mines" by the Keith Stock Company last night at the Frazer was exceedingly good and outclassed any previous per formance. The play is a wholesome one and fall of human interest, being a mingling of Western wealth and East ern society. The play is a good satire on the latter phase. The various parts are well chosen. Walter Kendrick, as the rich nncle afflicted with nervousness was ably portrayed by Leter Howard. Other roles were especially good. The large audience was entertained between acta by specialties. Tonight the bill will be "The Light house Robbery." This play is said to be one of the best in the repertoire. Tbe company carries special scenery for tbe production of this play. Miss Dorothy Fairfax, as tbe leading lady, will appear in "The Lighthouse Robbery" and some further clever work may be expected of her. Morning Tmmne, Pendleton, Ore.
