It is much bet ter to start a factory with a small plant and enlarge it as business requires than to begin on a large scale and end in bankruptcy be cause the business wilt not pay the interest on the investment debt There is room in Oregon for manufacturing plants of various kinds, and if started now upon a conservative basis they will grow to be large and valuable proper ties in a few years. The prac- The impression that poultry raising is a hazardous business has been proven by two Palouse farmers to be a money making bus iness, according to the Spoeeman Review. The same can lie proven anywhere in the Inland Empire. There is always a demand for chicken, and the high price of eggs during the winter months every year is proof enough that large profits may be obtained by the careful poultryman. Poultry rais ing seems to have been somewhat neglected in the Inland Empire, even as a ride issue. It has wen shown, nowever, that those who go into it and give th industry care ful supervision make money out of it.
