Grablll of lone and Mr. and Mrs. George Sperry of Heppner motored to Arlington .last Sunday, to attend the fun era! of Uncle Billy Weathe-ford. Mr. E. J. Bristow and family motored to .Walla Walla Saturday to visit with Walter S wen son and family. The Pacific Light. and Power Company have sent their appraisera to lone to check up on the local power line. Gene and Fern Fuglemen motored to Arlington Christmas Eve to meet their sister Zelma who spent Christmas in lone. She left for Portlond Sunday and was accompanied by her sinter, Ruby, as far as Arlington. Oscar Cochran is spending a few daya in Heppner. Hazel Feldman departed Sun day evening on the train for Portland where she will resume her studies in a business coilege. Frank Engleman left for Portland on the train aunday night for a ten day business trip. Harold Ahatt has gone to Quinton to trap coyotes for a few weeks. Perry Hartlemav who spnt Christmas in Rock Creek with his parents returned Friday bringing his sister with him. Walter and Clarence Linn left on the train for Vernonia where, they are working in the mill. Clarence lett on Sunday and Walter on Monday. Arch Cochran returned to lone Wednesday from Yakima where he has been working for a few months past. He brought with him his mother, Mrs. J. II. Cochran and bis son Bobby. IONE MAN HASACCIDENT Mr. A. lii. brown who waa on lone, his way to visit relativia in southern Oregon met with an accident latt Friday morning on the Columbia Rtver Highway near Bridal Veil. Mr. Brown who was at the wheel pulled over to let a telephone pole go past. As he pulled over to the side of the road the car skidded in the soft snow and collided with the unfortunate telephone pole. Mr. Brown's son, Winnie, is wearing a black eye as a result of the accident. The tar which was not badly damaged was taken to Portland for repair. As the garages were rushed with busi ness the car could not be attended to immediately so Mr. Brown and family returned-to lone on the train and his brother, Orv'.l. who was with him continued on to southern uregon in the aame manner.
