CECIL JTEMS W. A. Thomas of "Dotheboy's Hill" decided he had better return to active service once more and spent Saturday visit innr in Cecil and also calling at "Wiliowcreek" rai.ch in search of hay for his stcck. ' T. H. Lowe, postmaster, store keeper etc. of Cecil, also Henry Krebs of "The Last Camp" arrived from Portland on Sun day after spending a few days in the Rose City in the interests of business. Mr. and Mrs. li. V. Tyler and family were visaing at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dufur at "The Cot" near Cecil on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John Gray and daughter of "Shady Dell" were visiting in Cecil on Monday. Mrs. Geo. A. Milter and son Elvin of "Highview" were calling on Mrs. Geo. Krebs at " The Last Camp" on Tuesday. Mrs. Jack Hynd of " Butterby Flats" was a visitor at the home of Mrs. W. H. Chandler on Fri day. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Buchanan from their ranch near lone, were calling on Mrs. Geo. Krebs at "The Last Camp" on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. L L. Funk and daughter Miss Geraldine left on Friday for Wasco where they will visit friends for the week end. Jim A. Allyn, late of Cecil and now living at Oak Groe has been rounding up his old pals around Cecil during the past few days. W. V. Pedro and niece Miss Josie Pedro of Ewing were call ing in Heppneron Friday. W. V. is -kept busy these days upplying his workmen with their various materials while im proving hia home at Ewing. "Shorty" Shaver, well-driller of lone is workirg against time and has now drilled about 180 ft. and eipacts soon to find water at "Hillside" the ranch of Wal ter Pope near Cecil. ' Elvin Shaffer arrived in Cecil on Tuesday and will work at "Butterby Flats" during the busy season. W. G. Palmeteer of "Windy nook" visited Cecil on Tuesday and fouud all in order, but not being satisfied with our peaceful surroundings "Wid" once more cast the "Evil Eye" on us and caused the sand to smother us. During Tuesday night and Wed nesday, Sept 17th, at time of writing it is impossible to see whether we are still in Morrow county or have been blown else where along with the sand. Harold Ahalt, Government trapper left on Tuesday for Ar lington, Harold has just return from a successful deer hunt. Mr, Ben Morgan and family returned on Tuesday from a visit with Mrs. Morgan's mother in Sherman County, Mrs. Glad) Stormer and fam ily from Es'.ucada are visiting Mrs. Bauern'lond and other rel atives in anil near Morgan this week. Mr. Ben Morgan is hauling wheat to R. M. Harbison'a ware house at Morgan. Mr, James Warfleld and family visited with .lames Hardesty and family Sunday last. Mr. and i'rs.
