Mrs. Jack Hynd and daughter Violet and ion Jackie arrived at 'Butterby Flats" on Saturday fur sDendinff some time in ' Portland. Mr. and Mrs. W. H Chandler of "Willowcreek" ranch, accom panied by their daughters, motored to Athena on Sunday and BDent the dav among their friends. Mra. Weltha Combestof "Fair view" ranch near Cecil joined the M. V. Logan family of Tht Willows on Sunday and visited Mr. and Mrs. Zenneth Logan at Boardman. Rev. W. W. Head, pastor of the Congregational church at lone was calling in Cecil on Tues day. E. Switzer of Black Horse who has rented the Brown ranch near The Willows was doing business in Cecil on Tuesday. Miss Rhoda Beck of Walla Walla will have charge of the Cecil school which opens on Sept. 8th. Bob Lowe of Cecil left on Monday for Portland where he will resume his studies at the Benson Polytechnic Henry and John Krebs of "The Last Camp" left on Monday for Spray where they will receive a large band of ewes which Krebs Bros have bought and will bring to Cecil. Mr. and Mrs. Wristen of Ar lington made a short call in Cecil on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ross and son of Wasco are spending a few days with Mr. and Mrs. L L Funk near Cecil. Jack Hynd and daughter Miss Annie of "Butterby Flats" and sister Mrs. T. H. Lowe, spent an hour or two on Sunday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Al Troed son at "Grand View" ranch near lone. Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Stender, Warren Stender and sisters Misses Annie and Flossie Stend er of "Seldom Seen," Mr. and Mrs. J. . Crabtree and children of "Cuchoo Flats," Mr. and Mrs. Fred Linpley and family of Gooseberry, also Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Streeter and children of Cecil motored to the Columbia river on Sunday arid had a fine picnic, finished off by devouring some of the fine watermelons which are grown at Boardman. T. W. May who has been under the care of his doctors for sev eral months was able to pay a short visit during tin week to his "Lone Star" ranch. Mr. and Mrs. May are residing in Hood River untill T. W. feels able to go to farming again. MORGAN LIFE Mrs. Frank Halferty accomp anied by Libe Wiles and Mr. and Mrs. Seymour Wilson, left for Portland Tuesday night Wil son's will visit with relatives at Portland for a few days, thea go on to their homes in California. The people of Morgan extend their sympathy to the family and friends of Earl Wiggleworth. Earl Morgan of Broadacres was calling on James Hardesty last Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Warfield snd sons visited with Mrs. Wiles last Sunday. Eudora Hardesty visited with Mrs. Britton and sister in lone last Tuesday. Gladys Medlock called on Eudora Hardesty Tuesday last. Rev. Head of lone visited with mends ii Morgan last Tuesday Mrs. S. Edwards and children rom near Hood River visited cer husband and friends in Mor gan last week, returning to her home on Monday. 1 Miss Gladys Pierott and mother drove up from Portland and spent the week end atthe Frank tin Ely home. James Warfield of Morgan Heights is working at Cecil for Jack Hynd. Harvey Medlock is staying at Mrs. Warfiela's during her husband's absense. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Baurenfiend and son visited with Mrs. Congswell last week. Loyd Morgan was visiting his cousin Cland Morgan last week. Mrs. Noah Pettyjohn visited witk Mr. and Mrs. Hardesty last Saturday. Miss Eudora Hardesty left on Wednesday to work for Mrs. Sperry in lone. Mr. Withzle and family return ed from ML Hood last Tuesday. Martin BaurenSend went to Arlington Thursday last to meet Miss Farrens. Alvin Ely and Gus Liebe are hauling wood for Morgan. Miss Dolores Crowell and Gladvs Medlock were calling on Gertrude Pettyjohn last Friday. Mr. Moore of Moore Produce Co., of Portland was calling at R. E. Harbison's on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Seymour Wilson of I-och Lomond Cottage have been visiting with Mrs. Bauern fiend at Morgan fcr the past few days. Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. R. E. Har bison and Mrs. Bauernfiend and son Martin called on Mrs. Har desty and family last Wednesday night. The B. & B. store at Morgan will receive your watch repairing for Hay lor the jeweler, Heppner. Mrs. Feldman's daughters de parted Tuesday for Sunnyville, California, where they will attend school this year. They made the trip to Portland with their father father and completed the journey with Mesdames Corson and Sperry.
