Donated Land to Be Accepted The acceptance of donations, by the government, of privately owned land suitable for forest growing, is one of the important provisions of the recently enacted Clarke- McNary Bill, according to C. Shell Co. Fights Fire General practical co-operation of big corporations with tl e Forest Service Department of Agriculture in preventing forest fire was inaugurated today by the Shell Company of California, which began work on repainting its twelve-foot yellow-andted dial signs, on highways all along the Pacific Coast, with posters urging the motorists to help prevent fires. Every Shell station has been made an auxiliary of the forest. U. S. Forestry Dept. Morrow County Wheat Morrow County ranked third in winter wheat production for the state and ninth in spring wheat production. The average 6-year acre yield for all wheat was 15 8 bushels. Morrow rank ed thirty-fourth for all counties in the state in acre yield of wheal, only one county, Jeffer son being lower. liss Beulah Pettyjohn is quite busy helping her father harvest his crop. Mrs. H. 0. Ely, not finding work enough to keep her busy, has taken to driving header-box for pas-time. Rupert stout of Heppner is visiting friends and relatives in Morgan. J. A. Harbke has returned from a ten days visit with rela tives in Idaho. He found crops rather poor there, but had a very pleasant trip. Mrs. Harbke visited with her father several days and left for her home in Portland Tuesday afternoon.
