McCaleb, County roadmaster and Oscar Minor and several other gentlemen from Heppner were looking over the Cecil Scenic highway on Friday. Mr. Jefferson has bought a ranch at Ava and w ill reside there for the future. A. I Cecil will strive to be second to none with such a prominent and energetic member to represent her interests at the Fair Board meetings. The sympathies of Cecil community are extended to Ralph Winter on the death of his wife. Mrs. Winter had only been ill a few days when pneu monia set in. Her death came as a great shock to her many friends. A husband and two small children are left to mourn her loss. The inter ment took place in lone cemetery on Friday where a large circle of friends paid their last tribute to a dear, de parted friend. at the Star theater next Monday evening. Mrs. Phil Brady and also Mrs. Fred Houseman were calling in Ocll on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. A. Miller of "Highview" made a trip to Arlington on Thursday. Willie George Wilson of 'Butterby Flats" is spending a few days with his parents in Heppner. E. L. Vinton, J. Phelps, Geo. Post and G. Farnsworth of Cecil were call ers in Arlington on Friday. Mrs. Feter Nash arrived from Pen dleton on Thursday and is visiting with her son John at Ewing. Misses J. Ware and J. Wham of Baker were business callers around Cecil on Monday and Tuesday.
