They formerly lived in Morrow county, having a ranch near lone. Thejy moved to Idaho after selling out here. At the present time, Mr. Mills is engaged in business in Kamiah. Word was received here this .veek that Clyde Sperry, who formerly lived in lone had passed away in The Dalles Monday. Mr. Speny had been suffering for six weeks from blood poisoning and this Anally re sulted in his death. He had been in a hospital there for sometime. A brother, C. B. Sperry lives at lone. Walter Kilcup and wife returned Saturday from an extended automo bile tour of California. They report a most enjoyable trip, their only re gret being that they could not re main longer. Joe M. Lowe and Miss Burness franklin carried off several blue ribbons at tho county fair held in Heppner. Mr. Swank ot Morgan transacted business in Cecil Wednesday. Jerm O'Connor of the Art Minor ranch left for the mountains to trail some sheep out. Tom Savage, Wm. Schulz, Chas Al freds and Clow Logan left for the Valley to spend a few days with thoir families. They returned here Sun day ready for work again. Vern Logan, who for the past few months hag been working around Cecil, left on Thursday for Portland as he expects to be called to the colors any time. Miss Annie Hynd, Dave Hynd and Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Doney arrived here Thursday, visiting at the homes of Jack Hynd arid Mrs. T. H.; Lowe. Mr. and Mrs. H. Everett were Arl ington visitors Friday. Geo. Melton, Dave Hynd, Mrs. Jack Hynd and Mr. J. Ewing left here Friday for Pendleton to take in the last day of the Round-Up. Mr. and Mrs. A. Henrlcsen and sons were also Round-Up visitors. v Mrs. Boyd Logan was an Arlington caller Friday and Saturday. Miss Ines Easton of Myrtle Point, Oregon arrived here Friday to take charge of the Cecil school this term. E. Logan and family were visiting at the home of J. W. Osborn Saturday. Thos. J. Foraker and wife arrived here Friday to make their home with J. W. Osborn. They came from Sherwood, Oregon. Mrs. H. Ahalt returned home Sat urday after spending a few days in Washington. , Mrs. M. V. Logan, who for the past month has been in Portland, return ed homo Saturday. Mrs. S. P. Allyn, who has been vis iting at Prineville, Oregon returned home Saturday. Mike O'Connor of Heppner is help ing with the third crop of hay on the Art Minor ranch. John Miller is working at the But terby Flats this week. Harold Ahalt of Dufur and Willie Ahalt of Heppner visited in Cecil Sunday ot their return -from the Round-Up. Mrs. Geo. Dondy, who was taken down sick at the home of Mrs. T. H. Lowe, is improving nicely. Dr. C. C. Chick of lone was the attending physician. Paul Troedson has sold his ranch and will leave for Vancouver, Wash., where he intends to make his future home. Dr. Reynolds of Condon was a Cecil caller Sunday evening. Miss Inez Easton was a Heppner visitor Saturday.
