Noyes, Pastor. Cantata The sacred Cantata "The Rolljng Seasons" by Caleb Semper, will , be rendered at the Federated church next Sunday evening. A chorus of about twenty five voices has been training for this musical production and we are sure the public will enjoy and appreciate the occasion. Auto Accident While driving home from a trip to Washington Sunday night Victor Martin. George Connell and Hugh Rhea had an automobile -accident which seriously injured Connell and Martin and ruined the car. Thev were driving at a high rate of speed on a level road when the radius rod broke, letting the front of the car down and causing it to turn over two or three times. Connell and Rhea were caught under the car, and Martin was thrown out through the wind shield. Martin sustained some cutB and had his ankle sprained, but he succeeded in getting the car off the others. Hueh Rhea was uninjured, and he walked to Umatilla, 15 miles, and telegraphed to Echo for assistance. He made the 15 miles in two and one half hours. The men were brought home the following morning. Conn ell was so severely bruised that he was confined to bed for some time, and Martin is getting around on crut ches. Echo News. Kitclies Goes to Portland Llovd Ritches, who has been edit ing and publishing the Stanfield Stan dard for the past two years, has leas ed . his Plant there and has taken charge of the business department of the Weekly Oregonian in Portland. Mr. Ritches has given the paper over to the charge of Maurice Hyde, graduate of the department of journalism at the University of Ore gon. While in the field of Eastern Oregon journalism, Mr. Ritches got out an excellent paper. He will be missed in his profession here, as he will also be missed in musical circles. Mr. Hyde has had thorough prepar atory training and it is safe to pre dict that he will give the people of Stanfield the same good paper that that prosperous community has been receiving In the past. Wool All In All of the wool from the Butter creek country that is handled by the Pacific Coast warehouse, Is now in, and most of it has been shipped. A lot of 35.000 to 40,000 pounds from near Heppner may be brought over soon, If the road conditions permit. Echo News. Vawter Crawford returned Mon day from a trip into the Wallowa country, where he visited for a few days at the home of his brother, O. O. Crawford at Enterprise. He was accompanied home by his mother, Mrs. E. N. Crawford, who spent the winter In Pasco, Wash. County Clerk Waters Issued a mar riage license last week to Guy Corey and Evangeline Doble, both popular young people of Irrigon. Miss Doble graduated this ydar from the Milton high school. The marriage took place at the home of L. B. Kicker in Milton. Mr. Kicker was formerly principal of the school at Irrigan. Max Rogers was an incoming pass enger on Sunday's train. He has been going to school in Portland all winter, but he. reports he is back in Heppner to stay. MT.
