Miss Alberta Harper arrived Tues day from Spokane to make her home with her father, W. E. Harper. C. C. Paine has carpenters busy putting up his new building next to the.Dodd & Kennedy building. E. Dillabough came home from Portland Monday on the boat, bring ing 350 White Leghorn pullets with him. Z. Tascar of Whitcomb Wash., fil ed on a homestead here Wednesday. Wra. Kennedy and Mr. Swazey of Hermlston were visitors in town Fri day. Miss A. Harper went to Echo on Friday, returning Monday. Sidney Mack and wife arrived Sun day from Spokane to take charge of his father's hardware store. His mother and brother John leave for Huntington this week to make that place their home. Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Murchie and son Dursell, aunt and uncle of Mrs. J. C. Ballenser, Mr. and Mrs. P. B. I Blssel and Mrs. McMlllen drove over Sunday from Hermlston in their car to visit at the Ballengers. E. W. Mack was over from Her miston Sunday to visit his family. While returning from work last Saturday evening on their speeder, the section gang met with a collision with a cow. The car was thrown from the track, and the foreman, Nirk Alhams was so seriously injured that de died a few hours later in a hospital in The Dalles. A special train was sent up to take the injured men to The Dalles. The rest of the crew received only bruises and a few scratches. Mr. Albams leaves a wit and one son.
