Dutton returned to his home in Portland last week after spending some time in this city looking after his many property interests. Mrs. Victor Baldwin has been visit ing with friends in Heppner the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Baldwin are now making their home in The Dalles. I A. J. Warren of Hardman bought a Bulck, light Six last week from Al jbert Bowker, the local agent. Mr. Bowker received another carload of .these cars the last of the week. Claud Keithley, who has been visit ing with Morrow county relatives and friends the past two weeks, expects ,to leave soon for Long Beach, Cali- I -r.ia, whert he will spend the win ter. Chas. and Omar Stanton, Eight Mile farmers, were in the city Wed nesday making preliminary arrange ments for a public sale which they will hold at the Chas. Stanton ranch on Saturday the 28th day of October. On that date they expect to sell all their farm stock, consisting of horses, household goods and farm machinery. See their advertisement in another column of this paper. A half section of land in Umatilla county recently sold for $40,000. Tills is just ordinary wtieat land situated near Adams. Many farms in Morrow county produced ns big wheat crops this year as did land in the Adams section. Yet there is Borne ;dilTorence between $20 and $125 per 'acre.
