Richards of Echo was a busi ness visitor In Heppner this week. Herman Neilson of Hard'man was doing business in Heppner Tuesday. W. F. Barnett, Lexington business man, was in the city a few hours on Wednesday. E. E. Rugg and wife motored In from their Rhea creek home Wednes day evening. Miss Gladys Lane of Joseph has ar rived in Heppner to visit with friends and relatives. John Bryson, lone garage man, made a business trip to Heppner on Wednesday afternoon. , J. B. Flnley, prominent north i Morrow county farmer, was in Hepp ' ner Tuesday on a brief business visit. ' Mr. and Mrs. George Moore came down from their mountain home Fri day and spent a few days in this city. R. J. Carsner and family of Spray were in the city a few days this week. Mr. Carsner now drives a new Dodge car. Mrs. R. Y. Currin returned on Wednesday to her Idaho home after spending two weeks in this city with relatives. Mike McCabe is over from Spray to attend the wool sales. His sheep came through the winter in excellent condition. , Henry A. Conners, traveling repre sentative for the Blake-McFall Co., made his regular visit to Heppner on Wednesday. Austin Devin and sister Miss Altha returned the first' of the week from Portland and other Valley towns where they spent a few days visiting with relatives. Mrs. L. G. Herren will soon move her millinery stock into the Borg building on May street, which is now being remodeled. G. C. Cockburn, Grant Steen and C. T. Rockburn of Milton and A. B. Rothrock of Walla Walla, were Hepp ner visitors Monday. J. W. Beyner, well known Grant county sheepman, has purchased a new Buick six through the Heppner Garage, local agents. Dutton return ed to their Portland home Tuesday morning after visiting for two weeks with relatives and friends in this city. Rev. Turner B. McDonald and Mrs. MacDonald entertained a number of their young friends with a picnic party In the Monahan grove last Mon day. Harry and Emil Groshen returned the first of the week from Portland, where they attended the Rose Festi- val. . They say they had the best I time ever. Paul Hisler of upper Hinton creek was In town on business this week. Mrs. Lizzie Hacker of Tangent has accepted a position at the Hisler ranch as housekeeper. T. J. Mahoney of the First Nation al Bank has purchased a new Stude- baker car through the local agent, J, B. Sparks. Mr. Mahoney traded his Velie car on the deal. Art Wheelhouse, prominent Arling ton citizen, made a business visit to this city this week. At the present time Mr. Wheelhouse is busy buying sheep for an eastern firm. Creston R. Maddock, who has been attending the University of Oregon has arrived in Heppner for the sum mer and will take a position as night clerk in the Palace hotel. Mrs. W. K. Livingston, who Is spending the summer at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Brown entertained for a number of her friends on Monday afternoon. While motoring last week, Hugh Bran of the First National Bank lost a solid gold cuff link. He feels the loss keenly, in that the button was la gift from an old friend. Finder will receive liberal reward. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Farnsworth of Monument have been in the city the past week with, their daughter, who recently underwent an operation at the Heppner sanatorium for appendi- ?
