North Powder wants to build a new school house. Ashland $15,000 Is to be spent remodeling hotel Oregon. Monmouth is to get a $5000 co operative creamery plant. Yoncolla votes April 17 on $20, 000 bonds for waterworks. The quick-silver mine near Lon don is to resume operations. Marsli field-Sawmill at Isthmus In let to be operated tills month. Enterprise Roger Bros, will erect brick, stone or concrete garage. Portland is to have a new vaude ville theatre to cost $425,000. Dallas Commercial Club is boost ing a tank factory at that place. The Christian church of Spring field is planning a $1000 addition. The Pacific Coast Steel Co. plans to erect a $500,000 plant in Portland. Eugene -Business men are pro moting enlarged fire brick factory. Corvailis has granted the Southern Pacific a franchise upon its own terms. Ontario A district is to be formed to develop Warm Springs irrigation project. The Spaulding Logging Co. will cut 55,000,000 feet of logs back of Corvailis. Marshfield Wooden ware factory to make a carload daily seeking lo cation here. The Portland Brewing Co. has re sumed operations and will make non alcoholic beer. Annually enough water goes to waste in Umatilla county to irrigate 100,000 acres of land. McMlnnville County clerk will sell $7000 bonds to build bridge across Willamette slough. Plans are on foot to irrigate 100, OOOacres of Little and Big Agency plains in Jefferson and Crook coun ties. Grants Pass The Dyer Company, of Cleveland, O., have the contract for erecting $600,000 sugar factory here. Gresham Before taking advan tage of the Union high school gym nasium students must procure a phy sician's certificate as to physical con dition. Independence Wm. Riddell hired a man to catch gophers on his farm. Result: 3800 In one year at 25 cents each, or nearly a thousand dollars from this crop. New industries are coming to the stato, and in many towns the erec tion of new buildings and new plants have been announced.
