Edward Chinn, Jr., 11-month old
child of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Chinn,
died last Tuesday afternoon of pneu
monia after a short illness. The
baby had been ailing for a few days
but his condition was not believed
serious and his sudden passing came
as a great shock to his devoted par
ents, who are receiving the sincere
sympathy of all their friends and
neighbors. The funeral was held
Thursday forenoon, interment being
in the Masonic cemetery.
M. R. Fell, the garage man, re
ports that buttercups are in bloom
around Heppner, which should score
the Morrow county capitol one over
Portland's pussy willows unfolding
last week. ' i 1 ;
Resolutions of Respect
Whereas, it has pleased God in His
wisdon, to call from his earthly labor
our esteemed brother John W.
Wiidenan, of Portland, Oregon, and,
Whereas, Brother Wiidenan was a
faithful member of this lodge for
many years, a consistant and upright
Elk, it is fitting that we, members of
Heppner Lodge No. 358, Benevolent
and Protective Order of El'ks, make
fraternal and merited acknowledge
ment and record of the high esteem
and fraternal love in which we hold
him.
Resolved, that while we humbly
bow to the decree of the Exalted
Ruler of the Universe, we mourn the
passing of our brother and share
with each other our mutual sorrow
in his untimely departure.
Brother Wiidenan, in his life, ex
emplified the highest traditions of
our order and the virtues for which
it stands, and was in every way a
true Elk, facts attested by his every
day life.
To the widow and son and near
relatives of our departed brother we
extend sincerest sympathy and con
dolence. ' , .
Resolved, that a' copy of these res
oluUons be spread upon the records
of this Lodge, a copy be transmitted
to the widow of the deceased and
copies furnished the local press for
publication.

faithful member of this lodge for
several years and had proven him
self a faithful and upright Elk, It is
fitting that we- members of Heppner
Lodge No. 358, Benevolent and Pro
tective order of Elks, make frater

Brother Haney was a true Elk
and the principals and virtues for
which the order stands were exem
plified in his daily life, and we could
speak no higher eulogy than this.
