On Monday last the hardest snow storm of the season was raging In New York and other places enxt. Business In the city was virtually at ft stand- M.1H. The embnrj of telogrnph and railway communication was almost complete. The wind attained a veloc ity of sixty-four miles an hour. In consequence of the storm sevtral col lisions have oocured on railroads result ing in the death of many persons. The eldest Inhabitants say It was the "worst storm on record. A woman absolutely froze to death on Monday night at the cor ner of broadway and Fulton street, popularly supposed to be the busiest four eorncrs on earth.
