February 24. 1903. c CHRISTMAS SPIRIT "Peace on earth and good will toward man," in this quotation from the angels' song which is said to have been sung over nine teen hundred years ago we have the best definition of Christmas tpirit. On this the greatest holiday of the calendar year we break away from the usual hum-drum of our work-a-dny life to njoy the peace and happiness which prevails throughout the world on this day of days. When sitting by the fireside with our loved ones gathered around us or while walking on the streets observing the good fellows of various organizations eagerly bent upon their missions of mercy and good cheer, we begin to winder Just why the world could not be like this every day of the year Instead of just one flay or even one week. Once again we cast aside the formality demanded of us byj out position in society and awaken In our hearts the spirit of the child, a spirit containing all of those finer qualities of life which tend to bind all mankind together In the bonds cf merriment and kindness. Our cares and ill-feelings seem to vanish as If by magic, the old world which we have looked upon with so much disfavor in the past, is again filled with sunshine and happiness and we come to the conclusion that it is Indeed good to live. As the church bells peal forth their carol our minds are turned to the sacredness of the season, for it was upon this day Go Home for Yuletide Holidays Why not surprise the folks at home with a visit at Yuletide.
