Calif., team in which the Pelicans were held to a 13 to 13 tie. Next came Frank lin high of Portland and a 21 to 21 standstill. The following week-end the J’clicans traveled to The Dalles where they were again tied. 7-7. The Wildcats, Klamath B squad, downed Lakeview the other night 7 to 0. The Ashland varsity also has gone to the post three times, the first resulting in a 13 to 13 tie with Lakeview and the next week end saw a 6 to 6 engagement at Yreka. The following Friday found the O'Connellmen at Grants Pass taking a 12 to 0 beating in a nun-conference tilt. Snowy Gustafson, the Pelican head coach, is determined to drive the tie jinx out of his charges at the expense of the Grizzlies and cautions that this week the re serves are making such a good showing that there is no such thing as a first string and it will be those who show the most "stuff” who get the call, Gustafson's outfit is spiked by the little backfield star. Bobby Anacker, who was last season's sensation and has been the team's nucleus so far this year. Skeet O'Connell. Grizzly mentor, has been holding extensive prac- tice sessions all week and has ironed out some of the defects which appeared In the Grants Pass game. The Grizzlies are showing more pep and fire in scrimmage this week than at any time this season and the entire team is pointing to a decisive win over the Klamathltes. The last time the Grizzlies played on Modoc field was in 1937 when they played the powerful Pelicans to a 6-6 tie Last year, however, the Klamath lads came to Ashland to administer a 27 to 0 lacing. Starting lineup for AHS will in clude the following: Silver, right end: Hanel, right guard: Schilling, left guard; Gilman, left end: War ren. left half.
