Mr Jordan had been thought improv ing from an attack of the flu, with which he had suffered the past two weeks. ------- •------------- SPORTS CONTESTS FEATURE Oh" JUNE JUBILEE, IS PLAN A statewide tennis tournament was announced this week as one of the features of Oregon's Dia mond Jubilee celebration in Med ford, June 3 to 0. The tourney will cover four days beginning with the first day of the celebration, with handsome loving cups offered to the champions of the doubles and singles divisions. Quite a number of entrants have already made themselves known, and more are expected from all parts of the state. A committee is now working to complete details. Preparations are also underway for a trap-shooting contest, open to contestants from the Pacific coast at large. Numerous worth while prizes will be offered for this event, attracting some of the best shooters in the west. Plans are nearing completion for a fly-cast ing tourney during the celebration, with quite a number of entrants expected. A golf tournament is attracting interest throughout the northwest, and will offer spirited competition for several days. Loving cups will be awarded winning teams and winners of different handicap classes. A committee has been de voting considerable time to assure the success of this outstanding feature of jubilee week. ----------- •------------ l>R. II. P.
