The following recipe com bines all these essential foods men tioned in one dish LsculhqH'd Spinach 2 cups cooked spinach 2 tbwp minced onion h* tsp. salt Pepper 1 egg slightly beaten la cup milk 2 tbsp. butter melted ••a cup bread crumbs Put the spinach through a sieve, and then add all the other ingredients, ex cept butter and bread crumbs. Place In a buttered baking dish. Mix thw butter and bread crumbs together and sprinkle over the top of the spinach. Bake in a moderate oven until the crumbs ate nicely browned. Here, for Instance, Is a way to conibiim Kidney Beans with Fresh To matoes: Put alternate layers of the contents of a lo'¿-ounce can i f kidney beans and of sliced to matoes (you will need four ripe ones) In a buttered baking dish, seasoning each layer of tomatoes with salt and pepper. Cover top with buttered crumbs, and lay three long slices of bacon, cut in halves, on top. Bake in a medium oven until the tomatoes are done, the crumbs brown and the bacon crisp. Serves six, S Lima Bean Liaisons IAma Beans and Cabbage rn Casserole: Boll two cups dired ded cabbage for about twelve minutes, or until fender, In salted water, and they drain. Also drain the contents of an 8-ounce can of lima beans. Put alternate layers •of the vegetables In a buttered baking dish, and pottr over one cup of highly seasoned white sauce. Cover with buttered crumbs, and bake In n moderate oven for from fifteen to twenty minutes. Serves six. Lima Beans and Celery with Mork Holland aise Sauce: Heat the contents of a No. | e u of lima beans In tjielr own liquor, and then drain1 ." Roll one-foiirth cup of diced celery until tender, and drain. Combine the fwo vege tables. and keep them hot. Melt two tablespoons butter, and add two tablespoons lemon Juice. Beat one egg yolk, add the hot bean liquor, and then add the butter and lemon Juice, and cook gently until the sauce Is creamy, being careful not to boll.
