Thrailore Roosevelt at 28 East "Twen
ieth street, New York, Is to be re
stored as nearly as possible to its
condition In 1868, according to the
officials of the Woman's Roosevelt
Memorial Association following a re
cent conference here with Theador
Pop (Mrs. John W. Riddle), th arch
itect having th plans in charge.
An adjoining bouse at No. 26 ha
been purchased and both structures
will be remodeled to conform to th
architecture of the time of the for
mer President's birth. Th ey will have
brownstone front and mansard roofs
and th interior of No 28 will be made
to resemble the boyhood home of th
great American. Old mantels, chand
eliers and f jmitur will be put back
k place and childhood friends of the
Colonel will supervise the decorations.
A Rooseveltian library consisting of
his books of rugged outdoor life snd
Americanism and other writings and
published speeches will be placed la
the house at No. 26. Many other vol
umes the Colonel liked to read and
dealing with many phases of human
