The Round-Cp grounds will be the scene of action, and the admission will be 50 cents for adults and 25 c?nts for school .children. The proceed of the game will go to the Honor Guard girls fund, after pay ing the expenses of the soldiers from Fort Canby to Albany and return. Monday afternoon the hinh school band will play on the downtown streets and the Honor Guard girl will sell tickets to the game. The committee urges everyone to buy a ticket and if they cannot go to the urame. Rive the ticket to someone else. The soldiers will get the benefit of the whole thing, anyway. At Ieat two teams of veterans have been secured by the All-Stars to oppose the soldiers. The plan is to work part of the men during each quarter, and the Ft. SHERIFF BOOINE DECIDES NOT TO BE CANDIDATE Definitely Announces Deeision; Joe Frum and E. M. Kendall May Be Candidates Sheriff I). H. Bodine this morning announced that ,he would not be a candidate for reelection in the com ing primaries which w:ll he held next June. Mr. Bodine would make no comments as to why he will not run again, but stated that he has other phin in view which will prevent him from making the race again. Mr. Bodine is serving his third term as sheriff of the county and has giv en good satisfaction as a peace officer and has filled the office of tax collector with efficiency. Mr. Bodine comes from a pioneer Linn county family, wa born not far from Albany and is well known in all ;arts of the county. His decision not to be a candidate again will be re ceived with regret by many of his friend' who have urged him to make the campaign. With Mr. Bodine out of the race the question as to who will succeed .him arises. So far there are but two prospects in view. One is C. M. Kendall, who waui defeated n t' maries last year and who served as a deputy under Sheriff Bodine at one time. The other i Joseph R. Frum. of Lebanon, the present well known dep uty in the office. Mr. Frum has re ceived many encouraging assurance from a large number of republican leaders, but has not yet definitely decided to enter. ,It is genrally un derstood, however, that he will be an active candidate. Tt is not known who will be the nominee on the Democratic ticket, no or having come forward up to the present. Del Smith has, iaowever. been men tioned as a possible candidate. BROWNSVILLE MAN DIES WHILE WAITING FOR TRAIN While waiting for the train at Brownsville thi morning Henry Johnson, son of a well known pioneer family of Linn county, died sudden ly. He was about 45 years old. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson were on their way to Portland and were to meet their daughter. Miss Golda Johnson, who had been visiting with Miss Flor ence Hunter in this city while she was taking the teachers examination. Miss Johnson was on the way to the train when she heard of Jier father's death. Mr. Johnson had been strong and in good health, and his death is a great surprise. He was born near Brownsville, where his father took up a claim in the early days on John son Creek, which was named after him. One brother. Ed Johnson, re sides on a place nearby. It is re ported that Ckranians united under General Tcherbatchcff, Jsave fikcn over the Rumanian and southwestern front. PETROGRAD, Dec 22. Ukranian troops have taken positions along, the border, where their Cossacks are mo bilizing. They are issuing their own money, and a complete independent government has been started. MARY BEARO DIED AT RQSEBUR6 Word was received in the city thi morning that Mrs. Mary Beard, wife of Joseph J. Beard, died in Roscburg Thursday morning. She was about 71) years old and. while her health had not been the best, her death was udden. She passed away about 10 o'clock in the morning, apparently while sleeping. Mrs. Beard lived near Tangent for about 30 years prior to her departure for Klamath county seven year. a?o. Most of that time has heen spent near Merrill, but Mr. and Mrs. Beard moved to Roseburg last nonth to be near children at that place. She was well known in Linn county. She leaves, -besides her husband, wo daughters and one son by s former marriage, Mrs. Allie Andrews, of Klamath Falls: Mrs. Trixie Fisher, of Roscburg. and Ben Morgan, of Roseburg. She also leaves three step children. Prof. Harry Beard, of Cor vallis: Mrs. M. C. Jenks, of Tangent, and J. I. Beard, former clerk in the local freight office but now agent for the S. P. Co. at Klamath Falls.
