That Stolen Car licrnicc Lane, of Corvallis, has re turned from Koseburg, driving her Buick back through the mud, a plucky girl. The two boy arrested for the theft of the car claimed they found it in I-inn county, but of course did not. If they did it would make the case one for Linn county courts. Wallace R. Struble Among those in Srlcm this week seen by the editor of the Democrat was Wallace R. Struble, a former manager of the commercial club of this city. Mr. Struble is now in charge of the promotion of the naval base at Astoria, and is mailing things hum for it. At Salem he raised $400 for the work, and believes there is good prospect of the mouth of the Columbia getting the project which will mean the spending of several mil lion dolbrs there. Highly Appreciated Rev. Wallace H. Lee, president of Albany College, will occupy the pul pit of the Central Presbyterian church, East Pine and East Thirteenth streets, for at least a month more. His ser mons are highly appreciated by the congregation, but there is no plan to call Dr. Lee. The supply committee of the session has under contempla tion the call for a permanent pastor, but no definite action has been taken. Orcgonian. Baseball Players The O. A. C. baseball team passed through the city for Seattle, where they will play Washington U this week. Some of the members of the freshmen team also went to Eugene to play the U. O. Freshmen today, among them being Merle Briggs, for merly of the high school team. Lebanon's Thunderbolts Supt. Thordarson, of the Lebanon schools, last evening was in the' city on his way to Portland. Prof. Bolt, of the same school left on a trip to Marshficld over the new road. The school is taking a short Easter vaca tion. Williamson a Candidate D. N Williamson, of Corvallis, is candidate for county commissioner of Benton county.
