Tin; prime object of this organization is toalTord to young men who seek to maintain reputable characters a pleasant place to spend their leisure time, without huving to loaf about the streets or saloons. The organ ization of this club was completed last evening witli a membership of (i(teen, who have placed a sufficient amount of money to guarantee permanency. A suit of rooms have been leased lor one year over the Oregon Hunk. The same w:ll he elegantly furnished at once. Officers have been elected and working committees appointed for the time being, and the hoys seem determined to make this matter n success. So far this com pany is made up of young men who have felt the necessity of such an organization. Hut it is earnestly honed and desired that older heads mid the better 'dasses of business and influential men of Albany will assist in this social enterprise bv uniting with same if possible, or at least by lending their influence to our support. For it is evident that uccess depends, not only upon tl e efforts of charter members, but largely upon the interest manifested by the better classes of Al bany's good people. This move is cer tainly worthy of the support and influ ence of all good people. Kormis w ill be open, clean and warm at all times for members. Music, readings, debates, games, gymnastics, etc., etc., will be in dulged in. Occasional entertainments will be given, and be it known that it will not be a strictly "iinti female socie ty," for we expect to give the ladies the benefit of some of our best efforts. This institution is to be placed on a strictly moral basis, and discipline, order and gentility will be required. No profanity will be allowed, and game playing on Sundays will be prohibited. All men of good repute, young and old, will be wel comed, ami will be admitted for a time on tlie same conditions as charter mem bers. M. And yet how often the words are true; especially when cake, pastry or biscuit are in question ! The reason is plain, yet it is "like telling a secret." Our mothers used and are using Dr. Price's Cream Baking Powder. They cannot be misled into using any of the ammonia or alum powders. No dyspepsia no sallow complexions, when mother did the cooking. The first symptoms of ammonia poisoning, says a New York paper, which appear among those who work in ammonia factories, is a discoloration of the nose and fore head. This gradually extends over the face until the com plexion has a stained, blotched and unsightly appearance Dr. Price's Cream Baking Pov.'der is the only pure cream of tartar powder that contains the whites of eggs. Dr. Price's Cream Baking Powder is re ported by all authorities as free from Ammonia, Alum, or any other adulterant. In fact the purity of this ideal powder has never been questioned.
