The action of the two rival conferences of the Evangelical church in each appointing a pastor for every church in tlie state resulted in a serious trouble at the Humboldt l'ark church ia this city today. Rev Mr Morlock was to preach his farewell sermon and his successor was to be installed. Tlie adherents and appointees from both con ferences were on hand. Bishop Eslier's con ference had appointed Rev John Vetler ami the other faction, Rev A Hcilmin. When Jl'avor Morlock nnd l'astor elect Heilman attempted to close the Sunday school.prcparatory to other services, Superintendent Krueger and I'.istor elect Velter demanded their authoiity. Im mediately the congregation rose from tlieii seats and one partyscized Verier, while Heilman jumped down from the pnlpit. Vetter was finally landed outside, and notwithstanding his license from the conference, was refused ad mittance by Heilman, who stood in the door way. When Vetter's adherents had reljred Rey Morlock preached his sermon, deploring the occurrence, but saying Chiist was the only bishop they were recognizing at nresent. The floating batteries which he proposed will be of light draft, so they can be anchored close to any point where defense is required. In the dis cussion on these bills Mr Dolph will give his views on coast defense. Bain and Ssvaw, San Francisco, April 19. Yesterday's rain was general throughout the state.
