The largest rose fields in the world are at Kean Lik, in Bulgaria. There the roses from which the perfume is made are cultivated most extensively. The rose district extends f miles and miles, and the entire i coun try is a solid mass of flowers. Tne district is, I should jdge about one thousand square miles. In procuring the attar of roses nothing bnt the leaves are usrd. It take 6,000,000 of leaves to make one pound of the attar. The rose leaves are picked in the proper season, thrown into piles and ihen taken up and placed in large copoer kettles for the purpose of dis tilling the pure oil or attar. The kettles arc arranged one within another and the leaves are taken through twenty five or thirty distil lations. Good altar of rosea can be had for from 3l3 to $15 per ounce at wholesale. sornQtiuH'k retails for $50 to $60 an ounce. '.ending I'liotugrapliers Albany Oregon.
