The Portland Bulletin announces the death of Cyrus Gilliland. a young man raised in Douglas county where his father resides. Young Gilliand and a friend named AVm. Moore were in camp at Blackport, Idaho, where he had been employed in driving cattle. The particulars are not given, but it is supposed the shooting was by Indians. A brother of Mr. Gilliland was shot and killed by accident, near Itoseburg about three vears ago. A sad life history closed at scran ton, P.i., last week. A young mar ried woman named Teets was found dead of hunger and neglect in a wretched garret. Her bubo, two days old, wa found by her side. Mrs. Teets hid her poverty from the neigh bors, and several days ago cut oft" her hair and sold it to buy food, while her worthless husband was carousing in a saloon. She also old all her clothing to eiistain life, and the onlj article of apparel found in her apart ment was an old nij,ht dre6 wrapped around her child.
