Isaacs, manager of the Central Point branch of the First National Bank of Portland participated in a two-day work shop on money, finance and ec onomic trends m Portland on Friday and Saturday, according to C. B. Stephenson, president of the bank. Managers of all 70 First Na tional branches in Oregon were on hand for the session. Leaders in the various phases of banking and business took part in the program, including Dr. Emerson P. Schmidt, diector of economic research of the U. S. Chamber of Commerce, Washing ton, D. Wreck Hurts Fatal To Floyd Pence, 45 Floyd Pence. 45, Route 1, Jack sonville, succumbed last Wednes day evening, October 5, to in juries received in automobile ac cident the previous Saturday evening at the Pine street-High- way 99 intersection in Central Point. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 8. The Rev. Norman K. Tully, pastor of the Jacksonville and Central Point Presbyterian churches, officiated. Mr. Pence is survived by his wife, his parents, four brothers and three sisters. Adams Return Home From Eastern Trip Mr. and Mrs. George Adams of Ash street in Central Point returned home last Saturday aft er a five weeks visit with their son-in-law and daughter at Paut- PAGE SEVEN uxent River Naval Base, Mary land. While there they were evac uated to safer ground during one of the hurricane threats. They were accompanied home by Mrs. Adams' sister and broth er-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Art Kelly, of Lima, Ohio. The Kellys will spend several weeks visit ing in this vicinity. Three Pay Court For Traffic Slips Three violations of traffic law were heard in Central Point re corder's court during the past week. Horace F. Knight of Medford paid a $5 fine October 6 on a charge of failing to stop at a red light. Fritz F. Rumble of Central Point paid a $5 fine Oct. 8 for not having an operator’s license and Leo. K. Potter, of Route 2, Medford, paid a $5 fine October 10 for failing to stop at a red light. Lindvall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry W. Lindvall, Route 2, Central Point, particip ated with the 1st Western Marine Air-Ground Brigade in an am phibious training exercise con ducted here by the 1st Marine Division September 19-28. The brigade is a special com mand consisting of the division's 1st Regiment, supporting’ ground elements, and aviation units bas ed at El Toro, Calif. After five days of training at sea, the Leathernecks made a pre-dawn amphibious landing north of nearby Oceanside. Two days of maneuvers ashore fol lowed. Interment Rites Held For Breedlove Infant Graveside rites for Sheryl Lynette Breedlove, infant daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Rolland L. Breedlove, Medford, were held last Thursday afternoon in Mem ory Gardens Memorial park. In addition to her parents, sur vivors include a brother, Jimmy,- and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harld T. Breedlove, Med ford, and Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Turvey, Central Point. Services were conducted by E. Atkins of the Seventh Day Ad ventist church.
