PAGE FOUR Marsha Rae Doran Becomes Bride Saturday Of Dale Paul Schulz of Sams Valley Miss Marsha Rae Doran, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Doran of Table Rock, became the bride of Dale Paul Schulz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schulz of Sams Välity, in a wedding ceremony performed Saturday evening, May 8, at the First Methodist church in Medford. Dr. Raymond Balcomb officiat ed as the double ring vows were repeated before 200 guests The church was beautifully decorated with hawthorne and snowballs with ferns arri white bells. White Baliazina Gown The bride wore a white net ballerina-length gown trimmed in lace. She carried a bouquet of white rosebuds centered with an orchid accented with white streamers. Miss L ois Hawsley was maid of honor with Miss Harriet Mor ris and Linda Doran as brides* maids. The bride’s attendants appeared in yellow, pink and blue ballerina dresses with con- trasting bouquets. Cleon Botaford, brother-in-law of the groom, served as best man. Larry Wilson and Kenneth Big ham served as ushers. Alice Wil son and Lucile Abbott, cousins of the groom, were candlelight ers. For the marriage of their child ren, both Mrs. Doran and Mrs. Schulz chose nav yblue dresses and white accessories. They both wore white rose corsages. Recaption in Church A wedding reception was held in the church fellowship rooms with Mrs. Joan Sharp, sister of the bride, serving the punch and Mrs. I^ouise Doran, sister-in-law, cutting the cake. Mrs. Marie Botsford, sister of the groom, was in charge of the guest book. Mrs. Donna Dunn and Miss Lucile Smith had charge of the gift table. Home in Sams Valley The young couple will make their home in the Sams Valley district on the new highway. Both are graduates of Crater high school. Mrs. Schulz was em ployed for two years as a sec retary by Cheney Forest Pro ducts. The groom, who comes from a pioneer Sams Valley, is a veteran farmer. Out of town guests who at tended the marriage rites includ ed Mr. and Mrs. George McClung and daughter from Redding, Calif. Mrs McClung is an aunt of the bride. OREGON Crater Garden Club Sets Thursday Meet The regular May meeting of the Crater Garden club will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 20, at the home of Mrs. Clarence Mellbye, 46 N. 8th street. Central Point. Program for the evening will be “Floral Spray Arrangements” demonstrated by Mrs. Charles Jantzer. Members will answer roll call by telling about the success or failure they have had with their bulbs. Mrs. Bernie Moore will assist Mrs. Mellbye in serving refresh ments. Eastern Star Holds Regular Meet Tues. Nevita Chapter No. 93, Order of Eastern Star, held a regular stated communication in the chapter room Tuesday evening, May Il% Draping of the altar was given in honor of Mrs. Minnie Buck- man, who affiliated with the lo cal chapter in 1928. All officers were present at the chapter rooms for the stated communication. Mrs. Margaret Naples was initiated into the order. Refreshments of ice cream, cake and coffee were served in the dining room during the evening. Garden Clubs Plan Regional Meeting The City of Ashland and mem bers of garden clubs of the Sis kiyou district are busy complet ing plans for the entertainment of some 500 delegates expected for the Pacific regional meeting and the annual state meeting of the Oregon Federation of Garden clubs in Ashland June 6 through June 10. Last Monday, presidents of these clubs and committee chair men met at the Ashland Wom en's Civic club house for the assignment of clubs to assist with various portions of the program. Mrs. E. W. Jermark, Ashland, re cording secretary of state federa tion, is chairman in charge of convention planning. Registrations and reservations should be sent to Mrs. A. O. Floyd, 505 Keeneway Drive, Medford. TWO HOMES SOLD The Forest Sample residence at 736 Laurel was sold recently to Mr and Mrs. Earl Sands and family of Route 2. Central Point. The property of Holly F. Swin ger located at Third and Cherry, was sold to Mr and Mrs. Harry Grasspietsch and family of Med ford. Both sales were handled by the M and M Agency. Mother-Daughter Dinner Held Wed. The first mother-daughter din ner of the eighth grade at Cen tral Point school was held at 7 p.m. Wednesday evening in the school library. About 80 mothers and students attended the affair. The event was in charge of Mrs. Lorna Meyer, homemaking instructor, All girls took part in the event by helping to prepare and serve the dinner. Barbara Dir, Former Local Girl, Married Miss Barbara Dir of Seattle, Wash., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Dir of Central Point, ex changed wedding vows with James Cole of Alderwood Manor, Wash., at the Alderwood Manor Community church Friday even ing, May 7. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David E. Cole of the Washington city. Junior-Senior Prom Slated Saturday The annual Junior-Senior Prom of Crater high school will be held Saturday evening, May 15, at the Crater high gym. The annual formal dance, giv en by the junior class to honor graduating seniors, will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. Music for the dance will be provided by Myrick’s orchestra of Medford, Refreshments will be served later in the evening. Mrs. Grimes will remain at Gold Beach until clearance of her passport and will then rejoin him in Arabia. Grimes attended elementary and high school in Central Point, graduating with the class of 1938. He spent several years in the army and was with the army of occupation in Germany fol lowing World War II. He grad uated from Oregon State Col lege in 1948 and shortly after graduation accepted employment in Arabia. Girls to Attend Confab in Eugene Delegates to the State Girls league convention in Eugene this weekend. May 14 and 15, were announced last week by the Crat er high school league.
