The road extends on the south side of the Bogue riv e r from Gold H ill to the Gold Bay dam at Tolo. It traverses Hie p ro p e rty o f the Gold Buy R ealty company. The county never does any w o rk on tiie old road, and it is not used except by anglers and p ic n iic rs on the riv e r. H owever, it is passable fo r autos. No fa m ilies live on the road. It was the In te ntio n o f the county court to close the road in 1873, when the old E lsh er fe rry across the Bogue riv e r wus abandoned ami the m ain h ighw uy was diverted over B la ckw e ll h ill, but due to an e rro r ill the proceedings, the road was left open. Now, a fte r 59 years, it is proposed to close the road.
