Sayra, were gowned Chimney Spark Starts Fire The Clare Axtell home on Scott street had a close escape from de struction by fire about 7 a. m. Tues day morning when the shingle roof was discovered to be on fire by neighbor. At first the fire was thought to have started inside the roof close to the square top finish, but later it was concluded to have started from spark, from the terra cotta flue close by, which had lodged under the shing les. The fire for a short time was a stub born one, running just under the edge of the shingles and Bpreading from place to place. Damage was nominal, confined to a small part of the roof and some damage by water to the interior. At the time of the fire three mem bers of the family were sick in bed; Mr. Axtell with an attack of pneu monia, and a boy and girl sick with an atUck of the flu.
