Rakes has received the charter for the Moro Sewing Club. It was issued at Oregon Agricultural Col lege and signed by p. W. Smith, national club leader, Governor L L. Patterson, W. J. Kerr, president of Oregon Agricultural College, C. A. Howard, state superintendent of pub lic Instruction for Oregon, Paul V. Mauris, director of O. A. C. exten sion service, H. C. Seymour, state club leader, Lawrence W. Rakes, county school superintendent for Sherman county, Miss Mildred Ginn, local club leader. The members of the club are: Miss Eva Miller, Miss Helen Searcy, Miss Irene Kee, Miss Elma Kee. This is the first 100 per cent achievement in the county so far reported this year. Powell and family left by motor last Saturday on a camping tour of the Crater lake district. : MORO CHURCH NEWS The 4th of July celebration held at Graes Valley this year under the auspices of the four granges of Sherman county was one of the best ever held tA'Sherman county. The afternoon sports were witness ed by a crowded grandstand full of spectators and a large crowd sur rounding the seating space.
