The band la composed mostly of ex perienced players who tend to give the organization an air of stability and an assurance of success. Several young men are in the band and if we are to judge from preparations others are making, we might well expect a completion of the organization at the next practice which is to be at the school house in Moro, next Sunday at 2 p. m. An invitation is extended to all who are interested. A. M. Zevely made a business trip to the atate normal school at Mon mouth, last week and while there had the pleasure of meeting some Sherman county young ladles who are preparing themselves for teachers. Mildred Ginn of Moro ia taking pri mary work, Alida Douma is specializ ing in intermediate work and Harriett Rolfe of Grass‘Valley is taking rural work. All three expect to teach this coming year. - Marguerite Morrison of Grass Valley is speciabsing in 5th and 8th grade work and ia also ex pecting a position this fall. The first three named are juniors. Miss Mor rison will graduate in June. Dr. C. L. Poley and wife, D. E. Stephens and wife, E. H. Moore and wife and C. C. Richmond and wife were boats at a five hundred party at Hotel Moro last Monday evening. Decorations s ere in keeping with observance of St. Patrick day, being in green crepe paper and flags. Guests sufficient to accommodate twenty-eight tables were present. Instrumental •elections by V. W. An adjunct to the piano is a large and varied assortment of rolls for use of those so inclined. The Jones automobile, seized by District Attorney Wade for violation of the prohibition laws, will be sold at public sale by Sheriff Hugh Chris man at’10 a. m. on Saturday, March 29th, in front of the Atwood-Lee garage in Wasco. A deal was concluded this week whereby Ray Hansell sells his crop and outfit used in farming lands in section eighteen and seven, one south, eighteen east, about 900 a;res, to R. T. Morgan of this city. We understand that the Morgan home in this city is included as part consider ation to Mr. Hansell. The highway camp at the mouth of the Deschutes river, engaged in the resurfacing of the Columbia highway between Cell Io and the Deschutes, will move to the mouth of the John Day river within a few days. When again in operation they will continue the work of resuifacing the highway between the Deschutes and John Day rivers. A dance was held at Rufus hotel last Saturday evening, with many people attending from the northern part of Sherman county, During each of the dance numbers both of the large rooms comprising the office and the dining rooms of the hotel were crowded. This year the stock work is improving »8 there are full club memberships in Kent, Moro and Lo cust Grove as well as individual members at Emigrant Springs, Brock, Michigan and Liberty. Mr. Alíen will give the club members advice as to the care and handling of stock as well as the exhibit work.
