One bolt went through the roof, splinter ing the side of thé bam and made kindling of large foundation timbers under the manger. Another holt went through the roof over the loft door, I followed down the wail and separated, part continuing to the ground and part following a wire to tha opposite side of the manger from the first mention-1 ed where it proceeded to manufacture more kindling. The editor saw the ightning hit the barn and noticed dis tinctly the resulting smoke and dust. The barn was empty and no other damage resulted. The ball game last Sunday at Grass Valley between Maupin and Condon was taken by Maupin with a score of two to one. A real good crowd, esti mated at more than 800, paid to aee the game. It hud been announced at first as a $1000 puree game, but plans were changed at the last moment. N o. 240.
